  1. This is why we play this game and will be more than happy to wait. This team is so passionate about the game and dedicated to the fans that it upsets him that its delayed 14 days.

Trust? Yoshi you have it in spades. You lost nothing, you gained even more by announcing it live

  2. I took time off work for Endwalker, had to do a lot to get it, and there is no hope in hell I'll get any holiday time in December, I now have a useless week off in November, I feel sorry for yoshi p but a little more notice would have been great, and now thousands of people have useless holiday.

  3. CD project Red delay Cyberpunk 2077 for 6+ months via tweet, Blizz let wowhead tell people a patch is delayed…. can't fault Yoshi-P … feels good to have a dev who cares about us not making sure the studio can show off big numbers in finance meetings

  4. I was gonna book endwalker date off but I didn't, I booked 2 weeks for Christmas period instead. Then i left that job and got those 2 weeks paid to me in hand and started welding at a new place and will be getting those same 2 weeks paid off anyway, winning.

  5. As sad as I am that it got delayed I totally understand. We just have to wait a little longer. We've been waiting since fanfest two weeks more is nothing! And for those of us who are Shin Megami Tensei fans, the 5th installment comes out in about a week! So we can keep ourselves busy with that.

  6. Yoshi P looks like someone who just finished 80 hour work week, then had to consciously make a decision to screw over thousands of players who booked their leave in advance. That's got to be devastating and I feel bad for him. Hopefully the launch goes well and everyone will forget this as they fall in love with the Endwalker MSQ.

  7. Yoshida and the whole team deserves some rest! They've been relentlessly working for the expansion during a difficult time and Yoshida especially looks so exhausted. I remember the first time I personally met him in the fanfest in Paris which was the best highlight of my life. I couldn't help but to notice how passionate he is towards his fans despite his body language clearly told me he doesn't get normal rest like most of us. Regardless he took his time and took pictures with all the fans he had time with. This man truly cares about the community and the fans.

  8. You could tell he was really unhappy to announce this. I'm personally not happy about it because I booked time off for this. While my boss is understanding, I don't think he'd like me changing my dates so close to Christmas time. Guess I could ask i suppose.

  9. High ambitions lead to high complexity, and high complexity leads to many times more testing (QA) to maintain the same level of quality.

Especially estimating schedules becomes very hard when delivery size suddenly changes.

So I'm more surprised it's just a couple of weeks at QA level, so it in fact feels too good to be true.

  10. Just want to give Yoshi a big hug, I'm fine with the delay it only 2 weeks. He look so exhausted and tired, but I can wait. Rather have a polished game then broken game. I know dev them are very passionate about the game, so I understand. Just to hug them all, tell them they are doing amazing job.

All games I play, I will always look up to yoshi-p as he what all Dev's should be like.

  11. For me, the delay isn't effecting me at all since I haven't and don't plan to buy EW yet. I still have stuff need to do from Strom to SB and some class need to level up plus I def gonna take a break playing FFXIV for awhile, I don't want to burn out myself playing FFXIV.

  12. I could see the delay being a decision to intentionally troll Blizzard and their 9.1.5 release. Like a "sure, take two weeks to play in the new patch. There won't be stuff to do for longer than that anyway".
Personally I don't care for the delay, I don't think Yoshi-P had to apologise, but if it did screw up people's schedules then I'm happy that he did.

  13. sucks for ppl who scheduled days off work, but savage raid in early january is definitelly better than raiding during xmas. now I can chill with family during day and play during night. for me it is an early christmas gift

  14. For someone like me, a 2-week delay is not much, but I do understand why some people are upset by this. Yoshi-P knows this. He probably wants to release it on time, but he and the entire dev team most likely talked about this and weighed the outcome, ultimately choosing the delay.

I just hope the dev team can make this launch great and for people who took PTOs to have their leave requests approved.

  15. I'm pissed. I booked 2 weeks off work for this.
If you need more time, sure, delay it. But 2 weeks before release? What the fuck… This should have been announced 2-3 months ago. Incredibly unprofessional.
I guess I'll just sit around and wait for 2 weeks and then have no time to play the game once it comes out. Thanks guys… Good one.

  16. Well I cried more.. I sacrificed 50% of all my vacation days this year to this release. I had a party and friends over planned.. all for nothing… all together for me this is 500€ wasted.. for nothing.. if he only had announced it a month earlier it wouldve been just fine but this… is bad.. sucks and I will never again plan to celebrate a FFXIV game launch…

  17. I love how Square is now confident enough to fire back at blizzard and their timewalking event, which was, obviously enough, dated on 7./8.Dec to boycott FF again . It´s a statement i have been missing for years.

  18. I remember when Blizzard would hold a release back because it wasn't ready, or things needed to be polished. It was things like that which made WoW a titan in gaming. Unfortunately that quality and trust is long dead, and Blizzard is no longer trustworthy.

Seeing Yoshi-P care so much about his game and his willingness to hold the project back due to imperfection reminds me of the good times and the great Xpacs i played in WoW as a kid. Final Fantasy 14 is already an amazing game, but Endwalker I think will be even better due to the care it's receiving from it's creators.

  20. No one I'm seeing is throwing any vitriol at the devs, everyone is upset because they're stuck in a position they can't do anything about. Everyone is fine with taking more time to perfect something. But, most people can't just move their vacations around especially on the holidays. I had to put in my request off for this month back in September, and there's no changing it. Definitely a feels bad man all around

  21. Japanese people are very punctual with time and to delay the expansion for 2 weeks, I reckoned Yoshi-P must have also felt it was a big disappointment and setback in his work. Yes, the expansion was delayed but I must give credit to this man for his dedication and professionalism for wanting to make this game good for the players.

  22. I understand that people may be disappointed about taking days off. But also looking at it another view. the devs are and have prob been working longer hours then they should, staying up, missing out sleep, just to make sure the game is as best as it can for us players. And if YoshiP is this disappointed in himself for a measly 2 weeks delay, it shows his love for the game and the players. Would we get this type of response from blizzard, or would they blame us or convince us that we wanted a delay from them.
