  1. After the breakup, The Ancients were never the same again. Irreconcilable differences between front-man Emet-Selch (real name Hades) and drummer Azem (real name unknown) along with the tragically early death of synth/bass third member Hythlodaeus (both his real name and stage-name) meant the original trio only ever released one album, Fleeting Moments. Although Emet-Selch continued to lead The Ancients, with new band members Lahabrea (real name Hephaistos) and Elidibus (real name Themis) fans and critics alike found them much wanting. The Ancients still did rather well and fans continued to attend in the hopes that one day, the magic of the original trio might find its way through the music of the new trio. Sadly, it was never to come. Of the too-short years of the original trio's live performances, the performance at Ktsis Hyperboreia along with guest vocalist and solo-artist Venat stands out as their greatest triumph. Even their harshest critic – renowned journalist Hermes – spoke positively of the concert, saying in a retrospective many years later "Were I to immortalise one day of my life, it would be that concert. In that one moment, The Ancients and Venat flew higher than any have flown before. They were transcendent."
