  2. A non-spoilery note about teleporting: Most people can't teleport willy nilly like the WoL can. Adventurers/stronger that average fighters and scholars, yes, but the average person 1) isn't that great at manipulating aether and 2) just doesn't have the endurance to teleport more than once a day without needing major rest after (this universe's version of jet-lag). Hence why most people use chocobos, airships, and other mundane means of travel outside of absolute emergencies.

Given that Cid is a full-blooded Garlean, he couldn't teleport even if he wanted to. Full-blooded Garleans are unable to manipulate aether at all.

  3. Yes the source is something you should now by now it was explain by Minfilia in post ARR. Try to find it or I'll explain below.

There are 14 worlds in total and ours is the source or the original. Our world is called Hydalien like the crystal but are 2 diferent things. The other 13 are shards. The void use to be the 13 and got destroyed by the Ascians. I leave it there cause I can't remember what more you should now by now.

  4. Glad you guys are enjoying the game so much! I loved all this stuff as well. Can't always catch your streams but I can't wait to see what you think of stormblood. Things to look forward to: MSQ obviously, omega raid, dalmascan raid series, Tenzen trials, heaven on high, eureka, and tons more!

  5. You finished heavensward so this is no spoiler: The source is your current world. The warriors of darkness come from the first and unukalhai from the void (another world different from the source and the first). More of this and how the worlds are connected will be revealed later in the story.

  6. So some interesting context about progression.

The Alliance Raids are intended to be the catchup mechanism for the people who didn't do the Savage versions of the Normal Raids on content (so that those players would be geared up if they decide they want to take on the next Savage raids when they come out). The gear that they give tends to be slightly worse (but only slightly so) to the gear of the previous Savage raid tier. This is a huge aspect of why the Alliance Raids are designed the way they are; they're big, flashy setpieces that have a ton of people that you don't have to treat the mechanics too seriously, because it's supposed to be designed for more the more casual audience to enjoy raiding, while being a potential on-ramp for those players to convert to more hardcore Raiders, if they want to.

But it also means, as fun as the Alliance Raids are looking back, they are HILARIOUS when playing them on content. The recently new release AR in 6.1 on patch day was a huge clusterfuck and it was easily some of the best fun I had as a relatively new player (joining on the tail end of Shadowbringers).

  7. I think this much is what you're supposed to be able to know at this point about Unukalai:

The source is us. The void used to be one of the reflections, but NOT the same one that the Warriors of Darkness came from. This one was basically destroyed by doing primal stuff, and that's why it's the Void now and why Unukalai says he failed to save it. I won't explain further because that gets too close to much later lore.

  8. More than the Stormblood MSQ I cannot wait for you to do Stormblood optional content. The 8-man raid is one of my favorites, but honestly all the optional stuff in Stormblood should be really entertaining to see you guys get through. And I think a bonus is that doing all the optional content before Shadowbringers is a huge boost to enjoying parts of Shadowbringers and Endwalker.

  9. I am super glad you folks have been enjoying the Alliance Raid content. You're definitely in for a treat once you get to the level 70 alliance raids and Red Mage finally has its super fast rez

  10. The energy and excitement is really infectious and I love it. I'm glad I've found other Hydrus appreciators as he really stuck with me after Warring Triad. Enjoy your time in Stormblood!

If you want to know if cutscene dialog or imagery was affected by doing optional content in the past it's easy to see in the book at the inn. Go find the cutscene you want to check on, and if there is alternate dialog there will be an icon that lets you toggle between having done the quest —only if you have completed the content in question— and having not done it .

  11. Really hoping the data center travel works by the time you guys reach endwalker, I want to show off my lvl90 character to you before streams, with all the glamour I collected… One day I will.

  12. I had really hoped to see you do 8 Man treasure maps in this video 🙂
It‘s a very entertaining activity which still yields some decent money at level 60.
And there are new versions of it at 70,80 and 90 🙂

  13. There have been hints about what's going on with the void and where the Warriors of Darkness came from. By the end of Heavensward there are probably enough little bits and pieces of lore to work out what's going on but it's something that isn't fully revealed to you until Shadowbringers. At least, that seems to be the point where it 'clicks' for most people.
