Dawntrail Media Tour – New Action Showcase | Joonbob FFXIV

FFXIV Dawntrail Media Tour — A quick highlight reel showing off the new actions and changes for a bunch of jobs in Dawntrail. Also featuring a quick how-to for the new melee DPS job: Viper.

Due to time constraints I wasn’t able to cover all the jobs so I focused on the ones I play and ones I was interested in.

–Gameplay from the Dawntrail Media Tour 2024 Build

(Everything shown is from development footage + can be changed in the final build).

  1. Thank you for showing the actions along side the explanation so I can recognize what is what! I’m especially glad to see that Monk will be more accessible to my braindead ass, as it lights up the action you should be using, instead of lighting up both actions from each form. Meanwhile DRG is not at all fixed the way I was hoping, I assumed it would change the action you just used into Drakesbane 🙁

  2. so vipers 3rd gcd on BOTH 1-2-3 combo buttons can change into 2 different things depending on flanks or rears.
So its designed in a way that CANT have the 1-2-3 combos separated.
That actually sucks so much. Unless if you separate them and the 3rd button changes to the rear or flanks maybe?
Changing actions confuse the hell out of me… its what made me super confused learning reapers rotation at first…

  4. I wonder what's the reason behind DRK/GNB's gap closer change when PLD/WAR got to keep theirs? Now we have a weird situation where 2 deal damage and 2 don't

  5. I've had the idea for ages that, if we have to push the same button over and over for whatever reason, it should at least look cooler each time we do it. That's basically how Gnashing Fang for GNB works (technically it's 2 buttons with Continuation but whatever), and I'm glad to see it's taking place with Atonement. It looks like they also kind of did it with Warrior, in a different method.

Stuff like this lets you still be excited for the bland, uninteresting potency bumps. After all, I don't care that Art of War 2 does slightly more damage (vs mobs that also have slightly more health, so it's effectively little/no actual change!), I care that it looks cool!

  6. I know my job (smn) got a huge remake in ShB. But it seems like they could of put in a little more then another bahamut. But I will say he does look pretty cool. Just wish it played around with it's rotation a bit.

  7. Joon making the absolute best and easiest to understand XIV guides once more. This video demonstration sold me on VPR in a way that no one else has. Gonna set up a trigger to play the Skies of Arcadia "Cutlass Fury" shout when I do my Reawaken combo.

  8. Man, I love Joonbob videos, usually even after I finish a fight and he releases the guides I just watch for the sake of it because of how cool they look and how well made it is.
Thank you for your hard work!
