Thancred is one of the more unique characters in FFXIV due to the trails he has had to face, some which have left him at a disadvantage in combat situations.
But what if that isn’t the case anymore?

Thank you so much for watching this video.
My channel is focused on player perspective content, gameplay, theory’s and importantly game lore for Final Fantasy XIV.
As this channel has grown my goals have evolved but ever do they remain the same, the creation of videos that mean to bring a smile to a viewers face or provide them with even one piece of useful information.
I mean to live up to these goals and the time you have taken to watch my content.

I was thinking this and also wondering if the same thing could potentially apply to Garleans.
I don't know where but I read somewhere the reason he was capable of standing up in the airship scene is because he learnt to hold his breath for minutes.
You make an excellent point, one I missed entirely on my first playthrough of EW. It seems very likely that Thancred can manipulate dynamis as he's lost the ability to manipulate aether. I do hope they use this idea going forward.
That damned nutkin…..
I find the rules of dynamis/aether manipulation are left in a rather messy state with the information we have now. If lack of aetheric manipulation and willpower are all that's required to tap into dynamis, surely the Garleans would have already be using it en masse. Will we see it being used to explain things like Gaius activating his golden armoured form? If limit breaking is a display of dynamis manipulation, how do we explain Elidibus using the technique? I think using Thancred as a way to explore and explain these concepts would be a good way to go about it.
Couldn’t our characters use dynamis. Because the final boss raid (not saying the name just in case) said after the tank us lb3 “dynamis!?”, which confirms that limit breaks on some sort of dynamis.
So… are you saying it's Thancred's turn?
I thought about this , started with the thought "could garleans use this" kinda working with the assumption "no" because the relative Aetheric density might not have much to do with the ability to manipulate aether, however it could very well be the way the writers are aiming to go.
So while I'm assuming no from what I know thus far, I don't think i'd be too surprised if thancred and the garleans get this ability.
However Dynamis manipulation probably wouldnt allow for the gunbreaker shells to be used because it's magical application seems very different than aether, beyond both being able to create matter
This was very well put together. Nice work.
I think its a great theory. Though I keep expecting him to die at some point in the story, he's been at death's door so many times!
I think they mentioned this weekend that Thancred is one of the characters they want to put more focus on so it would make sense if he and the WoL explore dynamis further together.
One detail that kind of stood out to me was Thancred not being able to manipulate aether at all, but isn't it more that he can manipulate small degrees of aether but at the cost of his well being? Didnt he manipulate aether during the fight against Ranjiit to turn invisible at the cost of his health?
