I am greater than Ahab ever was.

New season means a new description for this Final Fantasy XIV gameplay series wow haha. FFXIV gameplay or FF14 gameplay even. A FFXIV challenge run if you will. Solo FF14, even.

It’s great that I can just phone these in since no one will ever read this far down.

  1. reaching ildyshire means you unlocked wonderous tales, weekly crafter/gather turn in NPC's, new vendors for poetics and materials? access to HW relics…its hard to describe just how much potential reaching that door just opened for Solo's ability to grow. :O

  3. Samurai Player explains Tsubame-gaeshi 34:42 Basically what it means it's the following, Samurai has a rotation where you obtain 3 different seals by completing the 3 different roads which all have the same beginning. For each seal you get an Aijutsu unlocked, for 1 seal (Higanbana) you get a damage overtime, for 2 seal(Tenka Goken) an aoe and for the whole 3(Midare Setsugekka) you get an attack that guarantes a crit with a lot of hit power. Normal Samurai opener focus on setting up the first seal for damage over time, and them on spamming the 3 seals + plus other stuff that doesn't matter for Tsubame-gaeshi + Tsubame-gaeshi.
So why do you need that explanation? Because Tsubame-gaeshi activates after you use an Aijutsu, giving you another use of the Aijutsu only able after using that Aijutsu, the moment you use another skill, it's gone. If you use it, it's under a 60 cool down, the burst of the Sam is around every 60 secs… See how it fits? imagine 2 guarante crit hit on a row.

  4. Hi there! Map addict here. One of the silly ones that have done that thief map title more than once (and working on getting it on a 3rd character/2nd alt god help me)
    Really enjoying the series!

Still watching the journey to kill the whale (as in I'm being a bad Youtube commenter by commenting before the end of the video for SHAME)… but I didn't expect you to dive into the rabbit hole of maps!
Good lord I do it with Blue Mage but you're doing it with WAR. Absolute GOAT.

Might be more fun to tease your chat and friends and such… and we can't prove it…
But from statistics and rates I think the addicts generally believe that the doors are a roll via RNG regardless of which one you pick (unless one is lit)! Otherwise the three doors in Hidden Uznair for Thief Maps would have ASTRONOMICALLY lower chances.

  5. I think I've forgotten. Did Rath decide to never collect Tomestone gear? 'cause if you're grinding Treasure Maps, may as well do daily Tribals for Poetics, right? Or is the Tomestone vendor not in Ishgard until you reach it in Idyllshire?

  6. The deeper this video goes, the more anxious i get. Not because of any perceived sense of dread, but just imagining myself putting that much effort into something makes my head wanna pop like a baloon

  7. For the record, pneumite is for the final step of the HW relic weapons. I would know because I have 15 sitting in my inventory that I'll possibly never use that I bought to make a relic for a class I no longer play

  8. If you want something a bit easier to do perhaps a Hardcore of sorts. If you die on a class you can't play it anymore. And if you die before you get a new class then you will have to restart the character fully.
Not as fun and demanding as this one but it does infact give a bit of a challenge if there is a wipe in a dungeon and such.

  9. it kills me that even with all this effort, you still killed the bubbles during a lightning phase. if you leave them alive, they act as lightning rods, taking the near-lethal lightning damage instead of you. (you only kill them during a rain phase, where if you don't kill them they get bigger and explode)
