  4. Honestly, I think the FFXIV team DOES "under-promise, over-deliver", to the point that it's entirely possible it's an internal strategy of theirs. It's also possible they're just super passionate and always exceed even their own expectations, and it frequently comes off that way to me. But in any case, it's something we see them do a lot ("don't expect flying in ARR zones" and "don't expect male viera/female hrothgar" being two of the biggest recent examples that come to mind), and it's worth noting. Of course, sometimes they do the opposite and receive backlash when they have to announce that their plans for new content have to be scaled back (which was an unfortunate reality this expansion due to the pandemic), and when that happens they're quick to apologize and at least offer a reasonable explanation that most people will be understanding of.

    But yes, we're definitely spoiled in this community 😂 YoshiP is too good for us, and I'm glad the new players coming in get to see how great this team is.

  7. Actually yes, the FF14 community is spoiled by YoshiP and his team. As someone that's played both games, I can tell you that the FF people actually have humility that the spokespeople for the WoW team does not have- not anymore.

    Ghostcrawler was kinda their best for this sort of thing, but he left after or during Cataclysm to work for Riot. He had Dev Water Cooler threads, not videos, but i think for their time they are comparable enough.

    However, the current team doesn't have a YoshiP or another Ghostcrawler. They just have employees doing their best to keep a paycheck imo.
