This video might not be for everyone, and may be difficult to go over trauma experienced.
Trans people, please, do what you need to for your mental health. This past few weeks have been brutal. I’m sending you love.
For others: I will be deleting ALL transphobic and anti-semetic comments, without warning, without debate.
I feel it’s important to keep the comments open especially to hear the voices of those affected directly.

Big love to you Peebs!
it's honestly super disappointing; and sadly all too common to find out people's true colors when it comes to fandom bs.
Thank you for making this vid; Peebs, you're a champ~
Well I was there during the conversation on stream so you know my thoughts. Nice to see it in vid form.
I never was into the 'Wizard Game' and its universe, but this huge hubbub about it made it known to me and made an open world game related to just wizardry in general to me, but at the end of the day I'll never play it cause FFXIV has my attention more to me
I didn't see Zepla's rant but I've read quotes and I'm disappointed. Not only in that she doesn't understand, despite having painted herself as an ally for years now, but that she wants to play the wizard game guilt-free so much that she's thrown it all away & taken an actively transphobic stance.
She has supported legislation against trans people. She has supported a movement that now only seeks to end human rights for trans people, but actively attempts to end their lives in every sense of the term. She doesn't get to play the game guilt-free and is too immature to handle it.
"I've been to war, so I know what's good and what's bad" is such a huge and cringy L take, it's hard to even know where to begin.
More than anything, I'm just hurt that people I used to look up to are turning out to be transphobic, especially since I came out as trans myself. It has been a deeply isolating and upsetting experience, and it's not even the wizard game's fault; it's just become the catalyst to expose what was always beneath the surface.
Thank you Peebs.
I think she was right. There is more worse things out there then a video game. All she was saying.
I take issue with treating any group of people like a hive mind. There's a lot of disagreement within the LGBTQ+ community on this issue, not everyone agrees the game is harmful but we don't really get to hear their voices too much in this discussion. The well of this conversation is poisoned because of bad actors going entirely too far with harassment and bullying anyway which is really sad. That's all people are focused on now and I fear it put a lot of movements back a few steps with the optics of it all.
What a bad take. Cancel culture needs to go. Support Zepla 100%
So are you approving of the bullying that's happening? My best friend who is trans is disgusted at the bullying and death threats being made against people. Its one thing to no longer support them for playing the game, but you really are no better then republicans/conservatives if you actively participate in the bullying and death threats. We need to be better then the far right not stoop to their level. Eye for an Eye makes the whole world blind my friends.
I'm kinda split on this. I get the outrage, and as someone who's a part of the lgbt community I understand that it feels really horrible to be made fun of and attacked for simply existing.
HOWEVER. I'd argue that what people have been doing by ganging up on people streaming the game online is straight up bullying. It's as if though people are using their past trauma to justify horrible behavior towards anyone playing this game, and I don't condone it. It's exactly BECAUSE I know how it feels to be attacked by a group of people that I would never group up and attack others for their beliefs.
P.S. I'm also playing this game. JKR is a multi-BILLIONAIRE. Giving more money to her doesn't cause any harm because she'll continue to be rich even if not a single copy of hogwarts legacy is sold. I'd rather buy this game knowing that an entire gaming studio who ARE ACTUALLY ALLIES are going to be profiting along side JKR, and that they could potentially provide support to the LGBT community where JKR wouldn't.
Things aren't just black and white here. A LOT of us grew up with the films for the harry potter universe, so a game that takes place within it's universe is something we've wanted for years. Sure it sucks that we're supporting JKR by buying the game, however the absolute minimal impact this would have on JKR's total wealth for me personally allows me to justify supporting the dev team for this game, and my own nostalgia at the same time. More good than harm would come from buying the game than not buying the game, because at the end of the day JKR has all the money in the world either way.
That's just my hot take.
To be honest I just can't wait for that game to die so that everyone can go back to playing the games that they just want to play without putting on this whole song and dance. I feel like it's one of those things where, the more people talk about it the worse it gets for everyone. I've already shared my thoughts on it but it's nigh impossible to convey the full extent of your feelings on Twitter because of text restrictions.
I didn't watch her video when it appeared, and now I'm glad I didn't. Of all of the folks, I am honestly shocked that she took that path. What if a game came out that directly benefited Putin? Would she say "it's just a game" then? I would have hoped that someone in her situation would have had more empathy.
Your opinion is bad and you should feel bad.
Out of all things, you people decide to get pissy about a video game.
You play lalafell. Opinion ignored.
Does J K Rowling get royalties from the game? Yes she does. Does she make HUGE profits from it? Not really. She is literally billionare. And what billioners typically do? They invest their money in many different places and stock market is one of them. Should i stop investing my money into some good companies which work on enviroment industry just bcs some bigot has invested there also? And how many of you pro trans people are smokers for example? By smoking cigarettes, you are enabling deforestation of rainforest by supporting tobacco industry. World ia not just black and white. If its true that trans people are getting killed in UK then maybe its a police issue and not some independent game studio issue? Its up to lawmakers to make laws and country better place to live. By playing or not playing a game makes 0 difference.
considering that I know at least one person who that was their lifeline in high school and felt SEVERELY betrayed when JKR came out anti-LGBTQ+ they can't even TALK about the fandom anymore, it's just that traumatizing for them.
I'm not going to yell at anyone playing it but I will not give money to jkr for how she feels about my daughter. Not will I watch anyone who plays the game. Simple enough.
I still think in capitalists societies such as ours in the west it’s HIGLY hypocritical to judge a person on whatever they use or doing simply bc the creators are problematic, blizzard has huge issues of sexual harassment among many other bs you don’t see me calling out anyone who plays wow, diablo, overwatch etc, adidas were made by Nazis, you don’t see me calling every adidas wearer a nazi, and let’s not even talk about smartphones at the end of the day what you do is hurting somewhere along the line I think zepla kiiiinda went overboard on her defense but I get being frustrated by the level of hypocrisy coming from people who especially use twitter for example that is suuuuurely an ethically supported app, what I get from that shitshow is that trans people were vocal or worse about something that didn’t even really hurt them and now they’re seen in a worse light then they were already this all thing has done nothing but lower the opinions of people that didn’t even care if you were trans or not instead of boycotting and blaming people they should go do something actually productive imo but that’s just me I guess
My main issue is that she isn't playing the game. I don't care, she just using it as to self-righteous and to be only "right". She's become a martyr, and she made it political. Trans Rights aren't political, they are human rights. She won't listen to reason, she doesn't care about the other side. Her mods are also in the wrong in this, but she became a Sith Lord. She only deals with absolute and she's very stubborn.
It’s not that shocking. Would any of you tolerate harassment for using Amazon? For eating nestle chocolate? It’s made using slave labor. If using a product makes you the endorser of all aspects of the production of that product then none of us are free from sin. This is just the outrage of the day. We all use computers. There’s conflict materials going into the components are you happy that children die from silicate dust inhalation? Of course not. We live in a system that exploits people. There’s far more important fish to fry.
Just a reminder, zepla is asmongold's bitch
Some of the comments here you can tell they didn't listen to the entire video roflmao…
I agree that Zepla's actions AFTER streaming is where she went into the sewer. I have since unsubbed, unfollowed her everywhere, and blocked her on most platforms I have accounts for. Her rant today on twitter sealed the deal. She used to be great, but I can't follow someone like her anymore. Not with the people she is attracting into her "community". It makes me feel uneasy and uncomfortable. I hope she learns from this… if she ever does.
Was a good video to listen to while doing some crafting. Thank you for speaking up.
if someone hurts me (out of the blue) they better be rdy, to take puches too.., cause depending on my mood, I might not hold back..
… but when going somewhere, where you know it can get dicey, I'd probably react differently / be prepared not to get hurt
Hearing all of this, I am deeply saddened to see that everything has headed down this route. As a person who wishes that we could live as we choose, believe what we choose, and not get judged for it, it's saddening to see how things are moving forward. Sometimes, stopping, thinking, reflecting, and THEN acting is an important part of moving forward, which it seems a lot of people, Zepla included, need to do.
I haven't been around near as much as I'd like, especially recently, due to my own issues. But this herein brings me to a quote from FFXIV that I keep going back to, spoken by Alisaie.
"No one is unbreakable. What pains one may weather may bring another to tears. But therein lies our strength, for when we fall, our brothers and sisters are right there to raise us up, again, and again, without end." —Alisaie L
This quote, in my own personal struggles, has been instrumental. I have been told when I complain, or mention my own issues, that they're nothing and I should just suck it up and move on. Of course, I try, and that has only made things worse. It seems, I am running into one of these situations where my problems are effectively nothing for those around me, but for me, they've driven me to near-total Despair at times.
Of course, I could never understand what these beautiful people are going through. all I CAN say is it isn't right, and they all deserve better. At the end of the day, we all have to find our own reasons for living, or, at the very least, the courage to step forwards, one day at a time, if necessary, until things improve or an opportunity presents itself. I'm very much currently in the one-day-at-a-time camp myself, so I know what that's like. There are any number of quotes from FFXIV I can find to fit any moment of suffering, and for me, it helps. It may not for another, and that's perfectly fine.
also, at the end of the day, we're all human, with our own thoughts, feelings, likes, desires, and beliefs. WHY should someone get to say what is and is not right? So long as you're not causing harm, why judge another for something that doesn't affect you?
Feel free to ignore my ramblings, it's late, and I'm perpetually tired. I probably didn't say it all that well.
Zepla didn’t do anything wrong. I’ve always been of the mindset if people are being jerks hit back don’t show fear to those will target and harass others. I know Rowling sucks as a person but this game did everything could to be inclusive as she had no involvement but the harassment I’ve seen from people who are against this game are just as bad as other side of they think what they’re doing will make anything other cast a negative light on themselves.
This is really cringe. Cancel culture has made half of the population soft now a days. Toughen the fuck up.
i stand with zepla. she didn't do anything wrong
