You know, I’m starting to wonder if spring is the season where I have to go all out to make an FFXIV-related mix. This one’s been rummaging in the back of my head since 5.5 dropped, and I was hit with the realization that Birth of a Wish was not gonna be used throughout the whole raid series at all. Once I came to learn this sad truth. I started theorizing where they could have used it, then I started thinking what FFXIV-related it would fit with. Once I made it to noticing how I could fit in Ultima, I started imagining scenarios where the Machine Lifeforms would squirm and huddle together to form their own version of the Ultima Weapon. And that’s when I decided I had to make this, and commissioned DTee to design and draw this sick take on a Machine Lifeform Ultima Weapon. So I guess you could say that all of this was due to the birth of a wish that Birth of a Wish would be featured in the FFXIV-raids… Hehe. In any case, enjoy!

I could definitely see this fitting in with the raid series! A shame they didn't use this track, but I'm glad you're taking that on 🙂

Great track! I love the idea of fusing Ultima and Birth of a Wish, especially since they didn't end up using BoaW at all during the raid crossover.
My only thing is that the Ultima theme definitely takes a backseat here; after the very first bit, apart from the choir being used stylistically, I couldn't recognize much of Ultima for the rest of the song. Most of the melody is taken over by different parts of Birth of a Wish, which is definitely great, but it loses a bit of that "crossover" vibe for me.
Still, super solid concept and execution, great stuff!
