  1. FFXIV has basically no other decent end game content other than raids, dungeons suck and pvp sucks. Raids in FFXIV are just bosses with no thrash. Raids in FFXIV are much more accessible and easy to start. In WoW, LFR is never logged, and normal raiding guilds barely do logging. They split Retail and Classic as different games. There, the main causes. They did something similar during SL when they spli classic and retail playerbase to suggest FFXIV had more players…during a patch drought, btw.

  2. wow needs to prune down the difficulties, there is absolutely no reason why there's 4 of them.

normal should be the current LFR since normal is pretty easy to clear anyway – just let people queue up for it. current heroic should be the entry lvl premade raid since it's comparably not that difficult, there's not a big gap between normal and heroic in raids these days

keep the end level raiding to mythic as it is

current lfr is just unnecessary bloat

  3. I cleared Ultimate in FFXIV and now i'm trying myself with WoW PVE, just to get the full experience of it. My understanding on how to get geared to do the raids is my long time player friend who told me i have to do mythic dungeons.

And let me tell you this, it is absolutely not fun x_x I am persevering! but mythic dungeon has brought me an amount of zero fun. i've been up to mythic 9 for now because i've been told i gotta do a lot of them so that people will take me (to build my RIO points or something) and it's just… the mechanics are super easy (it's a dungeon so that's normal) but the ennemies just have tons of HP, there are stupid tornados on this week that makes me dance from start to finish of a dungeon, it's literally painful. And to top it off, i'm not even guaranteed to get my BiS…

I don't know if there are people in my situation, but i can see why less people raid in WoW, to get there, you have to go through tremendous work. I feel like i have to be online everyday to make sure i can catch up.

  4. Oh wow!

That is actually super impressive when you consider that the majority of people in FFXIV logs with only 1 character since you can have all classes on a single character, eliminating the need for alt characters.

Not to mention that raids are also smaller in FFXIV so the amount of logs per raid team each week is smaller than a wow raid team.

  5. I love raiding in both games. One game has insanely toxic community and the other has not. Could it be that despite higher player count, people would simply rather not play with such toxic raiders?

  6. ofc, because WoW raiding is still too hard to get into for more casual players and for the first couple of weeks especially because WoW raids still tend to have some brutal mechanics for which you need DBM and other shit to deal with. It gets a bit better after Blizzard nerfs the raids like always but by then the damage is already done
