Arthars discusses the good and bad of the Endwalker delay

I Love FF14, Yoship and SE but I have to be neutral here.

Just wanna point out I dont have any problem with the delay, but just feel bad for the devs and the players who are affected by it.

Yoship made a good call on delaying it to make the game better, but a bad call on announcing it this late. I love the man, but he messed up but he’ll learn and we’ll move on. See you guys on the 4th December!

  1. I honestly think raiding after the holidays should be standard I hope this is how they do it from now, managing people's schedules and finding ppl to raid during the holidays is a giant pain in the ass and not to mention no one and I mean NO ONE is 100% into game as well, not even streamers who can afford to no life through this are 100% so just imagine your average raider. I think someone should give yoshi feedback on this, it could be he doesnt even know that some ppl struggle with the timing of past raid releases.

  2. You know what I forgot that they delayed ultimate. Yeah I mean the delay is okay but Arthars is correct. The call to delay should have been announced sooner. Obviously Yoshi P is torn between giving out great content and putting it out on time and he waits to the last moment that he believes it can still be released and then it slaps him in the face with nah that ain’t happening and he has to admit defeat. I respect the man and his eye for detail and making the best content he can but it can be a double edge sword when your in the constraints of project management.

  3. Summed up my thoughts perfectly. Don't mind the delay, in fact I'm all for it, but it really stings that they had to announce it two weeks before release… very uncharacteristic of them, especially when you compare it to the Ultimate delay announcement earlier this year.

If you compare them to their previous standards, you're basically settings yourself up for disappointment…. and that sucks 🙁

  4. Nobody wants to raid during Christmas, it's why I saw people putting "EW Delayed/Savage delayed" on their bingo boards during the Sept. LL. But then they said they wouldn't be and so people made their plans and now they're last second delaying. Sheeeeesh. That must suck balls. At this point I'm just expecting the one Ultimate.

  5. I honestly don't mind the delay, but like you said, I wish they came out with the delay a LOT sooner. I just sent a message to my boss asking if I can move around my requested time off.

  6. 2:57 "Those are gestures anybody would have done"

Anyone want to link Arthars the video where ion hazzikostas and his many "apologies" to the community? Like his "If you're tired of world mobs scaling with your item gear, just remove your gear and have an easier time." And his, "We see you're upset about turning some OGCD's into GCDs. Let me pause 1.5 seconds to respond" and then never answers why.

  7. I think its weird that people take off from work to play video games.
FFXIV is my favorite game and I play it every day but the game will always be there and it shouldn't be prioritized over paying bills and feeding your family.

  8. Literally the only issue I had is how close it was. Had friends flying out for a week to have a lan party and run content. Now we have to see if we can scramble to move it all around.

  9. If it wasn't for Yoshi P we would still have 1.0. He made FFXIV. I am part of the people who took off, am I mad, yes, but I do not want FFXIV to end up like WoW. End of the day I trust Yoshi P. He could have canceled it like Blizzard. By the sounds of everything, in blizzard they want the community to be the beta players while still paying to play the game. Do you want to find mistakes and pay to fix their game? If you do, WoW is waiting for you with their plans. I am not defending Yoshi P in the lateness but I am remembering that 1.0 was rushed.

  10. Honestly, it sucks that people time off is getting screwed, both for launch, and for savage week 1, and they shouldve announced this sooner, like at the media tour to lessen the sting.

But.. if the guy who not only saved FFXIV, but also saved Square Enix, the company, says he needs 2 more weeks.. he needs 2 more weeks. I trust him absolutely.
