ARR Ending Reaction – Completing FFXIV A Realm Reborn Ending After 15 Years of WoW

After Playing WoW for over 15 years, I’ve finally given FFXIV a chance, and although its taken nearly a month due to many in game disctractions, I’ve finally completed A Realm Reborn and wanted to share my ARR ending reaction live from Twitch.

People say ARR is the weakest part of the FFXIV or even the “worst” part, but I’ve honestly fallen in love with the story and this ARR ending absolutely blew me away, it was such an emotional rollercoaster! After playing WoW for over 15 years it was crazy to be this invested in a story like FFXIV ARR and even have this much reaction to an MMO in general.

I played through this live on Twitch and we ended up completing FFXIV A Realm Reborn at around 2am, and felt completely broken by the end!

I hope you enjoy these longer video’s and thanks to everyone who came and watched live!

  1. Just so you know, you can set voiced conversations to automatically play without having to click every time to move onto the next bit, makes watching cutscenes much easier, just hit space-bar to turn it on and off

  2. I forgot how angry I got. about Nanamo. I ran through ARR as a WMage and all I could think is “I can literally cure poison with my mind and raise the dead, WTF”.

But yeah, all Lala are evil until proven otherwise. There’s like 4 total Lala I like.

  3. I just want to extend my comforts, though it is a bit in the past now <3 . But oh man the roller coaster at the ending. Tears, Anger, Shock, Vindication, MORE TEARS T_T. The story of FFXIV is so good!

  4. The end of ARR filled with politics and intrigues, that's why many people find it sluggish, but it the end it jab you right on your stomach and uppercut you right on your chin. It does feel like Games of Thrones for me.

This kind of storyline will continue: the grey morality, villainous hero, trust and betrayal. The Heavensward and Shadowbringers will become darker and more mature in content. The aesthetics of this game may looks cheerful, but the story isn't.

There is weight in the story because FF14 is well known to let go some of your favorite characters to death. SE will make you love some characters, but they also brave enough to kill characters you love. The more friends you'll get through the journey, the more lost you'll get.

  5. I've played every big mmo from 2005 with EQ2 and onwards, and FFXIV was the first time that I've ever shed a tear. I was devastated for days. It wasn't in ARR, but never the less, it gets you in the feels.

  6. Best rule: don't trust lalafell with a beard. Apparently beards make them evil. Then again being so smol makes you angy…

Loved seeing your reaction. Gosh I remember the mix of emotion I went through back then as well. Not knowing what was going on, totally helpless. It hurts. This is truly a great end

  7. Ah yes…the part of the game that will either make you excited for or, most likely, dread the words "Upon proceeding to [insert location here], several cutscenes will play in sequence." =X

  8. What I think I’ve enjoyed about your posts, like others, is that I get to see the game again as mostly I had seen it originally. You can never see it again for the first time, but this is as close as you can get. Thanks for sharing Marty.

  9. I've watched this ending from other players, and NONE of them made me tear up. You help bring about the emotions that I first had watching this. Dude, it is so much fun watching your videos. I wish I had time to watch your streams.
