The amount of "healers let me die" I read as a response to a death is ridiculous. Not only from tanks, like dps casting from narnia for 5 gcd before a raidwide die and, oh healers let me die, instead of my dumbass can't even catch heals/shields. I've seen tanks pop rampart only for p7s buster on min ilvl and when they get the bleeding they pop nascent to heal the ot like, bro, you need the mitigation from bloodwhetting, da fuck are you doing.
yeah, man. all healers should level a tank, and all tanks should level a healer. my first guy was gunbreaker in SHB, and I was unaware of paper tanks existing until I played astro [but I knew about AFK scholars]. then the baddie scholars swapped to glare mage for endwalker lol
Honestly, healers get blamed for a lot of ahit that isn't really their fault. If DPS dies and they're the only one, typically it's their fault.
ff14's approach to healing and mitigation took me a while to get used to, but I love it now. it adds another layer of coordination and incentivizes a healer to dps
