  1. I rather enjoy the longer fights, when it's good content. Plus I always thought if you didn't have time for the Alliance raid roullette, just do it later or not worry about it. We kinda need a little longer content here and there, I understand there is savages, not everyone is about that. I do get a bit irritated that the alli raids are optional save for the first ones, since queing could put you into the lvl 50 ones over and over because people don't open the later ones.

  2. I agree with the Stormblood raids taking too long but I find the Nier raids to be fine. I think a lot of it has to do with your opinion on the things it's crossing over with. I find FFT and the world of Ivalice a little too in love with itself so I don't really care about the Ivalice raids going in; but on the other hand I adore Nier and Nier Automata so I love those raids.

I'm sure 7.X people will have opinions on the Vana'diel raids. I'm a FFXI veteran so I expect I'll love them, but someone who never played that game will probably not enjoy it as much.

I will say that some AR just have one too many bosses, like World of Darkness could remove one boss and it would be much better for it even if it takes away an iconic boss from FFIII. I feel the same way about Dun Scaith, they could reduce the HP of all the bosses prior to the final two just to keep it moving (perhaps maybe just removing the Ultima Weapon fight) and I think it would be better for it.

  3. Hard disagree. What i hate so much about crystal tower is how the bosses die in 1 minute. I don’t want the other alli raids to be turn out the same.

The Crytal tower series bosses are the ones who should get a significant HP buff and re-designed mechanics so that they don’t die faster than i can blink my eye once.

  4. It once took my alliance 1h to clear tower at paradigm's end… I avoid Nier raids since then as it's just a slugfest half the time and you're just rezzing people as healer anyways

  5. Im a sprout and I have reached 5.4 and on my belt I have done arr, hw, sb and recently shb 8 man raids and alliance raids. I can clearly say that alli raid are not long. This is coming from me who have many yrs of WoW xp when a raid evening can be 3h+. Just stick to rp if you get tired after one boss

  6. Depends on the mood really, if I want some tomes and am tired after work Syrcus is a joy, but if I have the time I rather run something fun and refreshing… EXCEPT DUN SCAITH GET THAT ONE OUTTA HERE

  7. Personally:
    * ARR raids need redone. The mechs are a relic of a game that no longer exists with how many changes FF has had.

    * HW raids are ok, personally I think their story is pretty boring but the fights are solid enough IMO

    * SB raids are fine too, except for the last one. The HP bars are gigantic and the mechs don't exist to back them up. You go into repeats before the boss is even a quarter dead unless your group is majority hardcore raiders doing dailies.

    * SHB raids are awful. Story's bad, fights are bad, HP is insane. If you can clear Nier3 in less than 40 minutes, you're having a good day.

    * EW raids are… a mixed bag. I think SQEnix heard the gripes about HP bars being too big in previous expansions and backpedaled too far. These days I can clear the last fight of Raid 1 before the big mechanic, and the last fight of raid 3 usually dies right after it starts to repeat mechs.

Overall, Alliances are a mixed bag. Either dated with old mechs that don't matter, or the bosses are unengaging bullet sponges, with a few exceptions here or there.

  8. i love the nier raids, but the ivalice alliance raids are DEFINITELY too long. i feel like nier keeps me more engaged because of the genuinely stellar quality of the fights. the ivalice raids seem to indulge in the spectacle a little too much – feels like there's like an solid 4 or 5 minutes or so of just sliding down sewers in the rabanastre raid.

  9. I kind of agree. I tap out on all content that’s at least two patches old and easier than extreme. With exception of that math mechanic.
Alliance Raids have many mechanics in them, but most of the time are too easy. If only they were more like Delibrum Reginae (Also add DR to roulette, I beg of you!)

  10. Too much HP? You can kill Nald'Thal well before he triggers the balance mechanic. You know, the big cinematic attack that they clearly put a lot of work into, that feels really cool to witness on your first run on Aglaia? Yeah, you can just skip that whole thing and miss it if your raid is doing too much damage. If anything I wish bosses had MORE HP.

  11. I abhore the nier stuff. At least the SB ones feel like FF14. The Nier ones are just bleh. Yeye I know crossover etc but it’s jarring seeing modern type stuff like that. But the lenght is the worst. Some of those are almost an hour long. Too much. Even current AR’s don’t take that long.

  12. nier and lighthouse are such enjoyable ARs but yes they're definitely way too long. I dont mind extended content but holy hell I dont want to be in 30-60 minutes for a single part of an alliance raid that also sometiems would take the same amount of time to get the people numbers it needs

  13. Anything but ARR and HW raids pls, they're just so braindead I fall asleep except when people fail the mechanics. So far the best Alli Raids that manage to balance difficulty and completion time are the EW ones in my opinion

  14. I don’t disagree in that a lot of the raids do take a long time… But… Crystal Tower raids take the cake for being the most boring, in my opinion. The upside of the later raids is a higher level cap, making them at least fun to play because you have more abilities. You will definitely have a better time playing Black Mage in a Nier raid than a Crystal Tower raid…

  15. Im fine with the lenght of the Alliance Raids. Every Raid should have then lenght of SB and ShB Raids. The only thing i wish is that the raids get more difficult. I think they are to easy.

  16. I don’t get the idea of trash in raids (looking at you Alexander) or Alliance Raids, they’re just padding no one asked for and no one likes.

You never hear anyone go “Oh man, guys! My favourite trash pack is coming up!” It’s just not a thing.

  17. I’m still new enough that the CT raids are only just now starting to bore me while StB and ShB especially raids EXCITE ME. More abilities, more mechs, more wipes. I’m someone who enjoys more challenging content and im not one who just looks to get through my alliance raid quickly. i get some just want their roulette, but i enjoy just diving into a good Nier run

  18. u can thank those crier @ OF complaining how they kept getting crystal tower series when queuing DR-ally albeit they're amongst the fastest to clear. & now we all gotta suffer getting harder-taking ages to clear ally raids. lawl

  19. Disagree. There is absolutely a "too long" for A-raids but a too long is only in a couple of instances. There is way too short in the CT raids, does anyone even know the mechanics of CT really? Hell, you can skip BALANCE, the big fancy centerpiece of Aglaia with ease, as well as a tonne of time shaved off. Id say they need more health or at least far better level sync changes so mechanics can actually go off and not get brute forced so badly it may as well just be a big training dummy we all smack at.

  20. all the people telling you to do better dps seem to forget that when you're one of 24 people, you're contributing less than 5% of the whole group's damage. in alliance raids you're depending way more on others being competent and the average player is not playing anywhere near optimally.

also you're right, some people just want to do a roulette or two after work then log out, and alliance roulette hitting ivalice or nier has made me go to sleep way too late on multiple occasions. the people complaining that every other alliance raid is too easy are speaking in pure hyperbole, with the exception of maybe syrcus tower and labyrinth every alliance raid has its own challenges. bosses having a high HP pool which forces you to go through tricky mechanics that can wipe the raid is just one form of said challenges, and personally that's just not for me when my free time is precious.

  21. grow a better attention/skillset cause nier/sb raids were peak n thunder god had to be nerfed so much because of people struggling to do mechanics. i miss alliances being tasked with different mechanics to do.

  22. The Nier raids are straight trash, all 3 of them. It's nothing but fan service and they take forever, Paradigm taking almost an entire hour when Thaleia takes half the time. Ivalice Raids are also short compared to nier.
