If they were to make an anime for FF14 I would NOT want them to do the MSQ at all, that story is being told in the best way it can be. If they were to do it they should have it be a side story or stories that happen along the main story to open up more lore that we as the main characters don’t see. They could look at war stories and other such things from different perspectives ( trying to be as vague as possible as to not spoil anything) but with the way the story is going they could do a lot with the view of other adventures in the world.

esoterics that are available for this season are actually phones, god only knows what rowena uses them all for..)

I know it's not an animation, but you should definitely check out the Dad of Light show on Netflix! It's inspired by a true story and it is absolutely adorable!
The events of 1.0 for sure! And Maybe some stuff like the war of the magi?
For an FFXIV anime type show I don't think I would want to see the main storyline in it, but maybe a look at the other characters during the events of the main storyline that we don't get to see. Like how are things going for like the leaders of Erozea while we're in like Ala Mhego or Doma. What was everyone else doing while we dealt with the Shadowbringers stuff. Rather than focus on WoL give us the other characters so as to expand upon the story, lore, and the other character that we all love so much.
I would love to see a FF14 animation even if they are just shorts highlighting every step of the journey. An entire anime would probably be to much. But the Fandom is passionate so who knows.
Koreans are crazy about XIV. There's a Shadowbringers reaction vid with people literally crying over it at a reveal event. Not sure if it was fanfest.

there are actually 3 Japanese ones btw, one for male, one for female and one where they meet. came out for shadowbringer's launch i believe… and each is roughly 30 seconds long
to find them search on youtube "ffxiv Choose your life" and you will know which is which by the pictures. the order is Female -> male -> both
It's kind of a side storyline, which is kind of a spoiler. But I would recommend you to watch "Flames of Truth" and would love to see ur reaction on it xP That would be the dream 😀

Takes me back to when I first started watching Sword Art Online and Log Horizon. I'd watch an anime of any final fantasy to be honest that'd be awesome.

Oooooh my actual good. I didn't know about this at all! This animation is super beautiful and so full of lovely details. I'd love to see a series too. XI had an own book series I loved dearly, it's so sad nothing exists to XIV yet. A series or maybe only short stories or something alike would be amazing!
And what I would like to have in it…Lala power! That cute kitty boy definitely needs a cool lala companion. Or more. Or a whole bunch of them! Haha. But joke aside, I think we've already seen the producer know what's going on in the game and present all the cool things. Doesn't matter what they do ❤️
i do not see why an anime of ff14 couldn't work. ff11 was featured in "welcome to the nhk" due to the mangaka being obsessed with it during ff11's peak.
.hack//sign, .hack//gu, pso2 the animation were pretty good, plus it could be more akin to recovery of an mmo junkie or log horizon.
Or they could simply set it to the ff14 universe and showcase the camility and the 5 years leading up to ff14 2.0

If there's one character I'd love to see in an FFXIV animation, it's Emet-Selch… a character you won't run into until Shadowbringers.
If you like this one. Check out the videos from the ZANEKONPU Youtube channel. Fan made short films in-game a bit like those Marvel One-Shots. They are spoiler free from MSQ AFAIK. Some do take place at later gamezones.
As far as what I think should be in the series, I’d like to see some more Hildibrand Shenanigans, maybe a day in the life of Nanamo, maybe something with the beast tribes after the temperance recovery, maybe an episode of Aymeric (my love) and a day in his life and more that highlights characters other than the scions, or at least saving the Scions for a final episode or a few OVAs.
