  1. I really don't give a crap about the excuses. I should be able to wait in line without getting kicked. I dont care if it takes 6-7 hrs. I waited 14 hours on Saturday and managed to play at 2am when I was dead tired and had no focus or energy. I only had to wait that long because of the constant 2002 errors. I started with a 2900 queue at 12pm. I should have gotten in within 2 hours. This is absolutely ridiculous

  2. I mean this is how it always goes when a game is over hyped. People rushes into the game and make it harder for others to log in. Just have patience and then try again.

  3. Understandable on one hand. On the other hand, would be interesting to know how much Endwalker copies were sold, and how that number relates to the hard limit of people allowed. It feels like selling 100k tickets for a concert that can possibly hold just 50k people. And as others mentioned, the queue is not the problem, but getting randomly booted back to the end of the line.

  4. I also don't mind queues. What I do mind is getting booted completely from the game and having to log in constantly, typing my password constantly, and repeating this cycle endlessly. It's a waste of my time. I think the issue here is that for the FFXIV fans (those who have been playing the game as "their" game for years) this is a hiccup. for any new players, or casual FFXIv players like me, it will drive them away. the hardcore FFXIV players won't care too much. They'll still play the game. But this isn't positive media coverage for FFIV, and I hope Yoshi sees that. And I don't think it's good for FFXIV in the long term to just ignore this. I hope they do something to alleviate it and provide some counter balance for people who may have purposefully purchased the game to get in early access. I mean, what's it going to be like when it officially starts? what about the next few weeks?

  5. This really helped me out. I went from 4,545 all the way down to 1 and then got 2002'd, I was pretty mad, but then I put on this vid and absorbed the knowledge and just went to do something else <3

  6. The main issue I have is 2002 error code and the character data not loading. 1. Why is character data, fantasia updates, and name changes affected by server login strain? Those two systems should not be relying on each other in any way. 2. The 2002 error code should not kill the entire client. It's as simple as putting in a hook that sends you back to the main screen again. but for some reason it closes the entire client. THAT is my main issue.

Both of these should be relatively easy fixes, but even if the character data one isn't, the error code one certainly is.

  7. I think you have to expect queues. Getting kicked out of the lobby and losing your spot – I think they'll find a way to fix that. People just don't have patience anymore. Yoshi explicitly said they've had issues expanding servers due to the chip shortage worldwide. You have to have some understanding in this regard. The pandemic has fucked up so many things worldwide, especially in supply and demand of consumer goods. This guy complaining in Ginger's intro is clearly some dude who does not understand this. I understand people's frustration, because it sucks not getting in. But if it's literally not possible to expand servers as the company wishes to do, you just need to accept that.

Advice would be to get up earlier and log on. I'm not a huge night owl. Hopping on at 8 am server time – you should have no issues logging on. If you refuse to do that, you'll just have to sit in queue until things die down. One thing we all have is time, and FFXIV has no feelings of FOMO, in my opinion. Your friends, your FC mates – they'll be there to join you in content when you're able to log on. WoW, for example, only has FOMO. There's always things you need to "catch up on." FFXIV isn't like that at all. Go enjoy different games. It'll be fine.

  8. I haven't been experiencing all the problems everyone else has. Some ques but for less than an hour. Feels like there is a window where its really bad when people get off work but I always play outside those hours

  9. If I wasn't experiencing DirectX11 crashes I would be a lot less irritated. I don't mind dealing with the queue and error 2002 errors. I understand this stuff happens, but if I crash and then I have to deal with it all over again. That's what's irritating.

  10. It like these people never played a mmo on launch day. Always happens. WoW, FF14, ect. Something new comes out there a influx of players.
The different is in FF14 is they funnel you in. WoW they let everyone in in mass. So long ques or long ques with lag..

  11. I think they are doing the best they can but I also think they need to reimburse subscription costs for this, maybe 14 days added to account. Because, Endwalker aside, I can't play the game at all right now yet I'm still being charged. A reimbursement is fair I think.

  12. Lol, reference to 1.0, it was a year between the release and re release. No biggie, I have a life outside the game so its not a big deal but at times I'd like to be able to log in but right now, its tragic. I've been on since the beginning and yes although it takes a lot of time Im okay with that.

  13. Ever since Diablo 3 I wonder take days off for games. To many people always crash servers at launch just keep trying and play something else till then. I haven’t even been Able to get to the character selection screen since army launch.

  14. It's weird, but I don't recall Shadowbringers having this much trouble. Then again, Shadowbringers didn't have a massive influx of players. I recall the queues being, what was considered at the time, long. Those queues were probably in the 200s to Endwalkers several thousand.

  15. Does anyone else find that the 2002 errors always seem to happen around the same time? For me, they always seem to occur about 15 minutes after I join the queue. More accurately, what feels like fifteen, as I haven't timed the wait. Still, after a certain amount of time in the queue, it's like I instinctively know there's a 2002 coming soon, and I'm always right.

  16. I understand everyone trying to get in a new game and just be patient. However, when I was in a 3000+ que line early in the morning. Spend 2 hours to get in game then the game crashes 20 mins in do to client error. I attempted to log back on only to find I can't and after several logins I'm back in a que of 5000+. It's very very frustrating.
