Do you guys like Lord Quintus? ):
[Looks at the title] "Oh no…"
Some would rather die with their misguided beliefs then to let others try to show them the truth of their beliefs.
But as the realization kicks in of the truth, its a takes a good, strong man to let those who followed you in that missguided path find their own way forward then to drag them down the same hole you dug yourself into.
Nothing but respect for Quintus.
Man, was Quintus part dark. Unlike Ilberd's suicide, which was dramatic and full of explosions and colors and all that, this was just as crude as it can get. We just have one bullet, a broken dream and a lost life.
"The red link [on the flag] in the center: the blood of the fallen." 😢
And so we come to this part, where things really start picking up. Excited for the next part. Steel yourself warrior of light, for things are going to accelerate quite fast from now on.
Thancred was likely invisible. Notice your character was looking to where the voice was without turning your head. Linkpearl might be too risky as you do have to put your finger to your ear to use it. Also, no blue text box for linkpearls.
Alea Iacta Est is a famous Latin saying. It roughly means “the die(dice) has been cast.” Alternatively it is the name of Varis’s attack in Memoria Misera.
“She” was just Lucia. Quintus was telling Jullus to give his response to Lucia.
FINALLY! I get to see one of these vids on the same day it’s uploaded
Alea lacta est = Throw The Dice
iyl is apparently a garlean Rank term for Dictator. It's not a rank you usually hear used, however, as it's specific to one serving in wartimes under the senate. There has not been a garlean iyl since BEFORE Emperor Solus, the term having no use. The term for an emperor is obviously Zos. Yae, Prince.
Telling the iyl to stand down is obviously very alike to asking the person to surrender– that they're fight is over. That they have lost.
For the curious, here are a few other garlean ranks of note. From highest importance to lowest.
Wir – Royal Family Member
Van – Legatus
Tol – Tribunus Laticlavius/Militum
Sas – Tribunus Angusticlavius/Praefectus Castrorum
Rem – Primus Pilus
Quo – Primi ordines, AKA Centurions
Pyr – Optio
There are a LOT of ranks used in Garlemald. This is probably not even half. If you're ever curious to know your ranking system, I encourage a search! It's pretty interesting to read up on.
Quintus died a cowards death imo
Very HW esque part this was, which I liked a lot.
Hope 16 is as powerful since it's by the same team.
Death before dishonor, glory be to garlemald.
Alisae and Alphinaud's cutscene alone reminds me — there are a lot of references and cutscene changes based on what raids/trials you've completed. For Alisae/Alphi, the whole "you've found your own reason to fight" thing is a reference to Coils. I'd definitely recommend if you haven't already to do normal modes of the ARR-Stormblood raids.
I’m late because YouTube decided to not recommend me or show me your channel since the second episode and I only just caught up. And why I’m sure I don’t need to say it, man does Garlemald really hit those post WW2 vibes. All this feels like West Germany Horror Stories, along with 40’s London architecture and devastation and Siberia’s bitter cold with the Russian vibes. Considering Garlemald is the farthest north place on the continent paralleling North Asia and Europe combined and… this will certainly hit hard. Especially Quintis. Many German officers, even those offered pardons… Shit’s depressing despite how true it is.
I appreciate your understanding of nuance and the shades of gray, Yoshi and team were going for with Quintus and Garlemald. Too many people dismiss them as just another group of evil, bad guys with no introspective done at all. They're victims in the end, victims of propaganda, Ascian influence and a history that lead them to a "get them before they get us" attitude. They're what the other factions could have been so very easily if not for timely influence. Much like many antagonists they believed they were right in their mind and doing the right thing, they, as a whole, never made it back around to the "right" side in the end.
