A Realm Reborn 2.0 ENDING!!! | Final Fantasy XIV – 20

Hi everyone! Today I’m taking a break from WoW content to give FF-XIV a try, following in the footsteps of many of you! I’m a total beginner to Final Fantasy 14 so I hope you’ll enjoy seeing the game from that perspective 🙂

  1. 9.1 ain't worth a sub tho keks, that's the issue. 9.1 was written and hastily pushed out for the 1%ers, and they and Blizz just milk the community. Farmed for Cash is a bad feeling in an mmo, let's be honest here. Pay to win feels bad man. Breeds toxicity.. That's what brought you here, to 14. Same as so many of us.

  2. >auto-translate

Type a part of a word or phrase in, such as "fists" or "nice" and then hit tab. It will bring up a series of words or phrases that start with that word. "Nice" leads to "Nice to meet you." while "this" leads to "This is my first time here." Very easy to just type "nice," hit tab, hit enter, then type "this," hit tab, hit enter, and then send it into chat and you'll say "Nice to meet you. This is my first time here."

Works for basically anything in-game, including some pretty obtuse stuff. Like "donut" which refers to the shape of certain aoe's, or names of skills such as Snap Punch or Double Hook. Can also be used for some less-than-PG-rated humorous phrases with a little creativity.

Practically speaking the auto-translate function exists to facilitate cross-language communication. Entering "nice to meet you" via the translator will show it in all of the supported languages for anyone using those specific clients. So for a French client it would show the French equivalent to the phrase "nice to meet you." But for most people it's a nice standardized way to quickly convey an idea without necessarily having to type it out word-by-word.

  3. Castrum Meridianum and Praetorium had skippable cutscenes when I played through them for the first time. And exactly what you described happened to me, plus people rushing me to skip cutscenes on top of it. It was so confusing and an awful experience, watching those cutscenes in an inn wasn’t the same.
I was very nervous in dungeons at that point in general bc I was new and this experience stopped me from playing for 3 years bc I was scared every dungeon would be like this after those two…
Thankfully I came back to the game and am now no longer nervous about group content, but I also never complain in these dungeons about the cutscenes being unskippable. I just listen to podcasts/watch YouTube, have dinner etc. they give amazing exp and currency so it’s worth it for me to go back from time to time and it’s basically 40min-1h leisurely game time that pays off 😁. My husband and I call them movie nights xD.

  4. I was as surprised as you at some npcs there at the end, but when I went through ARR again I made the point of speaking to the people in Waking Sands between quests… those npcs where there from basically the beginning just not part of cutscenes 😅. Some of them will get character development later on in the story 😊.

  5. To answer your question about Dental Nubkeks….it could cost anywhere between $20-$1500 depending on if you have Dental insurance and quality of insurance for something like you described.

  6. And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: (Acts 17:30)
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. (James 4:4)
Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (Matthew 7:13-14)
