as a socially incompetent person, here are my Tipps how to interact with new player.
Step One: be polite, not friendly. Overly friendly people always feel like they're about to try and scam you, while normal level of politeness and a bit baseline respect is just pleasent to be around.
Step 2: ask them what they think of the game and if they need help with something. Usually they'll tell you they're just checking it out and fine, but they'll remember that you offered them help, or occasionally they will ask you something that seems obvios to you, but may not have clicked for them yet, explain it as simple as you can unless asked for further details.
Step 3: if one of your friends/FC member hijacks the conversation be casual about it, new players might be shy at first but watching you two interact will give tnem a level of understanding how to interact with you.
In addition: NEVER EVER summon a "Oh i have an FC member/friend just like you/you will get along with." the person refered to is probably busy doing something and gets whissled over for some uncomfortable silence that goes on a couple minutes. Making the newby uncomfortable at best or avoid you/the game at worst.
those are some first encounter tipps that may help, even if you're as socially inept as i am.
