It's not in this compilation, but Aymeric's "Let me do this much for him, at least" as he lifts up Estinien's unconscious body hit me like a ton of bricks. The pathos of Aymeric's commitment to his friend alongside his acceptance of your differing roles and power in the world all contained in a single brief line.
This part of the msq remains one of my favorite parts still even to this day. From the moment we arrive on the bridge and do our hero's landing and slow walk towards Nighogg while the knights and soldiers are running the other way, to when the dragonsong plays as we absorb Hraesvelgr's eye, the fight, the end cutscene with Ysayle and Haurchefaunt and closing out with Edmont's sigh of relief was just top notch. I relive this part of the msq more times than pretty much any other part. I love it!

The line that Estinien gives about sharing the mantle of the Azure Dragoon only happens because you took the time to level up DRG. This game is full of callbacks like this. For example, if you leveled up either Blacksmith or Armorer (can't remember which), one of the NPCs in either the Warrior or Paladin jobquests will complement you for the weapon or armor you made for them.
Did you know that you can have a 'sparring match' against Vedrfolnir (the dragon Aymeric rode out of Ishgard on)? You're going to need to have unlocked flying in The Churning Mists and the help of a few friends. There are a few FATEs there where you must protect an NPC or Vedrfolnir or sometimes both, and you must complete them all without failing any of them. Those FATEs will eventually result with you teaming up with Vedrfolnir to take on his archenemy, Darkscale, and you must do so without Vedrfolnir dying. Successfully defeat Darkscale, and you'll unlock an achievement FATE where you and your friends get to face off against Vedrfolnir and you'll get barding for your Chocobo for winning.
