FFXIV OST Diamond Weapon Theme

Ultima Unreal. A fun normal mode, lots of movement and lots of missteps baby.

  1. After listening to this theme for few days non-stop, I have to admit that this is 100% the best boss theme song for 5.5.

The entire chase sequence is just amazing, and then you are fighting the Diamond Weapon at the sea of clouds with this intense, fast, and epic soundtrack playing behind it. And then it gets even better after Diamond Weapon transformed into some kind of agile alien beast and destroying one of the platforms. After a moment of the fierce fight, instead of exploding, you can see the weapon slowly fall down into the sea of clouds as the closure of this fight.

My favorite part: 0:001:00. The animation and music are just superb.

If anything, I can't find myself enjoying the Nier Automata Final Boss theme in 5.5. Maybe because I don't play Nier Automata, so I really have a hard time enjoying or appreciate that final boss music.

  2. tbh this is probably the weakest OST from the questline, and weakest version of Ultima's theme. HOWEVER, it is appropriate storywise. We went from fighting Gaius and his Ultima Weapon….to fighting WITH Gaius and an Ultima Weapon (against another Ultima Weapon). This isn't the theme for Diamond Weapon, its the theme of Gaius and the G-Saviour

  3. Enjoyed the story and the fight in general, but…

    Tracking mechanics…

I didn't enjoy it with 'Crush Weapon' on "The Thunder God," and I didn't enjoy it here with 'Diamond Shrapnel.' I reeeaaally suck at these things.

  4. Sadly the worst extreme theme in the expansion by far. It’s just ruby weapons first phase except made worse. Would’ve liked more originality, ruby and emerald banged.

  5. this one is amazing of course, but i don’t think anything can beat The Black Wolf strikes again, hearing the introduction to that literally gave me chills

  6. What the hell. They just casually up the storytelling to god tier with this questline. The darkest and most sad yet by far. The trials get a completely different feeling story-wise compared to everything before this, like trying to strike down those you want to help as there is no other choice.

  7. Man after beating it on normal mode I was like, “that’s it?”

No second phase or over soul mode like the others. They mentioned Zenos and I was all hype. Then we got this pretty basic encounter.

  8. Okay, now I have got to ask, when does the story suddenly turn into gundam? Like, I think I stopped partway through stormblood, and this looks pretty awesome.

  9. Why does the way this opens remind me of the "watch out" part of "I Put a Spell on You" in Hocus Pocus? Now whenever I'm fighting Diamond Weapon I'm gonna be muttering, "ah say ento pi alpha mabi upendi."

  10. What you get when you combine the AMX-004 Qubeley, the NZ-999 Neo Zeong, and ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos Lupus Rex and have it fight a bunch of guys riding 2 RX-78GP03 Gundam Dendrobiums… Immobile Suit Diamond Weapon.
