  1. The way Hraesvelgr shoots Ysayle down is really brutal, it's always sad to watch, but I always thought she needed that wake up call.
Also, I'm pretty sure that by that point, everyone in Ishgard knew of what was happening with the issues at Ul'dah thanks to Tataru. Never underestimate a lalafell when it comes to gossiping.
I also love how Raubahn, one of the tallest NPCs in the game, always ends up surrounded by lalas in one way or another.

  2. Great edit as always. This is such a good part of Heavensward. The camp side scene and meeting are such great character exploration and growth.

As much as I am enjoying the pace, make sure not to burn yourself out. FFXIV is a marathon not a sprint!

  3. "How are we going to explain Teledji's absence?"

    He had to split.

There was a deal on popotoes, half off.

You know how politics are. Riding high one minute, your legs cut out from under you the next.

  4. Remember when you picked the fight with that T-Rex in your last video when you learned that it was an A-Rank? What if I told you that there is an even higher rank than that? They have to be spawned by players under specific conditions, and can only be spawned between 2 to 4 irl days from their last appearance. The Shout Chat announcement near the end of the video was for an S-Rank that appeared somewhere, and those definitely require multiple parties. But you can still get full credit for the kill if you manage to get a few hits in in your party.

The easiest one to spawn is the one in Upper La Noscea. The condition is to summon any minion and walk in a specific random area, and the S-Rank will spawn right on top of you.

  5. "Too oft" lmao.
I love this part of the story. The moogles charmed me, though it took some time for me to be convinced. I enjoy how much they hate your (the character's) name. Then meeting Hraesvalgr and that campfire moment with Estinian and Ysayle and Alphinaud all just felt so impactful, such a big adventure.

  6. There are a few plot points in this whole game that just get me, and this part of the story was one of them. To find out that humans/mankind was responsible for such betrayal made me do a quick 180 on the dragons. I thought they were cool before and enjoyed the fights with them, but it wasn't until the secrets came out that I really came to appreciate them. I love the characters in this expansion too. I hope you are having fun still. Keep up the good work, as always. I'm enjoying watching you play.

  7. 18:15 — Remember Moghan 🙂

58:35 — Seeing this the first time, I, too, thought that Lolorito was playing with fire… while drenched in oil. In retrospect though, he says all the things most hurtful to Raubahn, putting blame on him without actually blaming him.

1:01:15 — Well, she is the supreme judge of sorts in Uldah… So I guess, if she says something, it has weight. Which is also how she speaks in general, now that I think on it…

One thing the HW story did a bit poorly was having us jump from one place to another so rapidly. Dont get me wrong, there are several pressing story plots that have to be adressed in close succession (I cant imaging people back in the day werent impatient to find out what would happen in the Sultanete) – but its a little jarring none-the-less to climb up to the clouds only to be entangled again in Uldahn politics ^^°
