OOOhhh First Comment lmao.. Thank you for the list
I find your videos so helpful! Thank you for taking the time to tell us all these tips and tricks!
another helpful tip. you can macro camera angle settings.
/tiltcamera xx
xx is degrees, usually its at 15, i added 45 and 60. 45 for dungeons, camera zoomed half way out. 60 in 8-24man duty big bosses and zoomed all way out. that way you can see WTH is going on instead of camera focus on your own pretty face.
for crafters.
did you know instead of typing the skills name in a crafting macro you can drag and drop it in the window? much easier then typing it out all the time.
another one for those who like/dislike music.
/performsounds
nothing else needed, it toggles on/off players music in city.
As someone who has been playing for 2 years and is on end game content I had no idea alot of these helpful features, thanks so much <3
Sanctuary is also shown by the moon icon next to your xp bar. Moon = sanctuary, no moon = no sanctuary
Great tips and I love how you left in the little pronunciation hiccup of gold saucer…highly adorable
“The Gold Saulcer” earned you a shiny new subscriber. A console ffxiv player but still! Some of these I knew but there were a few quality of life settings that I can see coming in clutch for a black mage trying to run from deadly orange circles.
As someone who has played the game over 4 years now, I'm glad I learnt something new ^^ The list of items what were spiritbonded was very useful for someone who keeps forgetting to extract those xD Thank you for taking the time to do these tips ^^
I turn on effects for all on everything. A lot of dying but now I can tell apart aoes and effects, yes even there's a lot of summoners lmao
for the limited leveling roulette it only works for leveling roulette and only if you have 4/4 party
i highly recommend using supply and provisioning to get every crafter, except culinarian, to 30 at least. It isn't a huge time or gil sink, and being able to desynth all the gear you can't or won't use is great for saving space and making money.
Okay, using the extract materia action instead of right clicking each piece was a new one for me. Good tip!
for the GC provision missions, the star bonus and the HQ bonuses both give double XP and they can stack to give you 4x the baseline listed XP gain. meaning a 100k XP gain will give you 400k XP if its both starred and you turn in a HQ item. gathering items since they can no longer give HQ items have long since given double XP baseline due to the change and you double that from all starred gathering turn in.
Nice video! Short, concise, helpful and to the point!
A handy feature that is usually never brought up in videos like this is Alarm and Reminders. A great use of this is in the Gathering Log, when you're trying to gather materials from timed nodes. You can right-click on the section that shows the location of the material and Set a timer for its next occurrence. You can set it so that it rings an alarm few minutes before that node is about to get active. You can also access alarms from Actions & Traits > Alarm or by typing /alarm in chat. You can set reminders and timers in your local times, eorzea time or server time for various activities. For example, a one time alarm for server reset to remind you to do roulettes or tribal quests, maybe a reminder for Jumbo Cactpot draw.. or set reminders every 30 mins to use food buffs, etc. Only thing to note is that Alarms reset/clear every time you log off.
Another handy tip: If you want to know what a certain macro does or how to properly use its sub-commands, you can type "/?" followed by the name of the macro do get a nice detailed explanation of that text command with some examples. So for example, if you want to setup a macro for alarms that you want to use regularly, you can type "/? alarm" in chat to explain everything about /alarm macro
Hmm I feel like this is one of those cases where if this channel had a Discord community, we could’ve had a thread asking everyone for some of their best tips, in order to compile a best tips video, making it a community project.
I feel like this video was a miss, as the majority of these tips are mostly beginner tips. Pretty sure the poll ended up with most everyone voting for ffxiv tips, not beginner tips.
I never noticed the inside version of the front arrow for positionals though, so glad I learned something new!
Limited Leveling Roulette only works with a 4-man Premade Party. It won't work if you queue by yourself or with only 1 or 2 other players.
