  1. This is so interesting to me! I started on FF14, (had the same reaction to Limsa Lominsa! I started a new char right away just to give them that starting zone) then swapped to WoW to play with friends, and found quazii’s videos to help with tanking mythics. Now you’re giving me such nostalgia i might just swap back for a bit. I love your positivity, quazii!

  2. You can only stun 3 times, then you need to wait a bit before you can stun again. First stun is 3 secs, second stun is 2 secs and last stun is 1 sec. So don't waste time stunning when you don't need to stop the incoming big attack. If you stun to often the enemy will be immune against stun when you really need it.

  3. You CAN do a photo album of your adventures. Print screen will take a picture of your screen and store it in a file folder. Great vid!

    I believe it was mentioned, but as a tank, move the boss when you need to, but keep it steady otherwise. Melee DPS classes have positional attacks they need to hit from rear or side to maximize damage.

    Other MMO tactics translate to FFXIV as well, such as boss cleaves, line of sighting ranged enemies, dont stand in fire.

    Keep up the great work!

  4. Hi lil falafel, tiny tip for tanking in ffxiv, after you get enmity (aka aggro) on the mobs try to face them away from your party.

    How to see if you aggroed them is by looking on the left side of your screen where your enemy list is:
    Green = low enmity.

    Yellow = rising enmity.

    Orange = slow down.

    Red = they are after you.

    there are a couple other ways to know if you have enmity of mobs too! you will figure it out bit by bit as you get use to the game's UI ^^

  5. Props on your tanking! Even though these dungeons are the very basic ones, you have a good understanding of mitigation, keeping up with the healer, and stunning mobs. Hope you continue to play the game, dungeons and raids after ARR are so much fun.

  6. a little tip and info you see the semi circle and arrow in the bottom of mobs? its a directional thing… the part with a arrow is front , left and right is flank and the back side is rear…. always position yourself when tanking away from your party meaning the rear of mobs should be facing your party members.

  7. The first stun a mob takes is full-duration, the second stun is half-duration, the third stun is quarter-duration, and the fourth and beyond have no effect. It takes about a minute since the last stun for that to reset.

  8. This video's already a day old so idk if you'll see this, but about the photo album comment thing, it's not quite exactly the same but if you type "/gpose" in chat, it opens up a photo mode! It's pretty decent, and you can play around with it. It can be pretty fun to play around with so you should try it out sometime. There are some really cool photos/screenshots people have done with it, and it has a whole little subcommunity in the game haha.

  9. Not sure if anyone helped you alreadty, but at 20:18 on the bottom of that window, you have circles, one of them hides helmet, unless… Unless your helmet is part of chest(trust me, i was trying, for minutes, to find a clear way to say this xD)

  10. Note that you can change the voice-over language! I really cannot take the english voices so I play with the japanese vo, even though I do not understand much. 🙂 They just sound so much better to me.

  11. one tip is to ask if anybody knows the route on dung as tank, thats what i do, if somebody knows i let them lead the way, also getting aggro from mobs is slow compared to wow

  13. what you said about the game being a jrpg with the mmo part above it pretty accurate. Oh and btw, ARR is not bad, it was tedious at first because they had to slow the pace since they were developing this one while maintaining 1.0. They did a redo to all the Main Quest so the flow now is pretty good, so I'm pretty sure you are going to enjoy the story. Ah, something I noticed is when you fight, you keep spaming keys and shield bash, a recommendation would be to do the combos, you do a lot more of dmg if you do them in order, also, shield bash interrupts your combos so try to use them before starting a combo, or after finishing it, so that way you won't interrupt the combo.

  14. 13:35 wouldn't be a WoW player if you didn't ask for a dps meter as soon as your in group content lmao. The only way to get DPS meters in FF14 is using an external tool, you can google it if you want but most FF players don't use it.

  15. Really enjoying these! Sorry if someone has said this already, but quick thing on chain-pulling is that you generally want to sprint when it's off cd just before you aggro so you get the full 20s duration, then you can hit the first group a few times with aoe (tank aggro is quite strong right now so doesn't take much depending on gear) and run for the next pack right away to group them up quickly. The amount you can pull really depends on your group and healer skill, but for example current and synced content usually you only do 2 at a time or it gets really hairy. Other than that, you will learn to adjust based on your own experiences and what's comfortable for you. Happy gaming!

  16. There is a DPS meter mod, but if you have it, you don’t want to tell anyone. It is bannable to have it. Yoshi-P has stated he does not want DPS meters as it would lead to the Party Finder having parties where you have to prove your DPS numbers and it could make things more toxic.

  18. On the topic of playing FFXIV in VR:
    They actually had a showcase for that back in 2015 during TGS. It was mostly just a proof of concept kind of thing, but it was still really cool.

  20. I envy your tourist wonder, I didn't appreciate the environments till halfway through the first expansion, till my FC told me to slow down and I took the time to soak it all in, I wish I could go back to relive the game all over again and really appreciate ARR.

  21. Great videos! But I’ve noticed you almost never do your combo correctly, and further on when you have 10 more buttons that are part of your combo, it’s paramount, so it’s better to get used to it now 🙂

  22. Fun little detail is sometimes, the NPCs in the world will actually look at you when you get close to them, or if you're standing nearby them, they'll occasionally look at you. If you have a friend, you can both try this and the NPCs will only look at the PLAYER, so for you, it'll look like the NPC is looking at you, but your friend will see the NPC looking at them instead.

    Also some NPCs will show up only for you in the world for that point of your journey in the game, and only you'll see them. Some NPCs will also disappear from some parts of the game as you progress. And example of this is that little group of new adventurers you met before your very 1st dungeon. You'll run into them as you go to each initial dungeon, just like they are also mirroring your journey!
