  1. idk what raiders some of yall are talking to but the vast majority of people are decent. there are always some rude ones but that’s with any group of people lol
pf can be rough cause you never know the skill lvl of the players but honestly id take a skill issue player over someone with a shitty attitude 😀

  2. Ive done all sorts of raids but I will admit it’s a mixed bag and most of the time it’s others fighting and ego’s clashing and as of the last two I’ve just been burnt out after disbands and fall out . I wish these was a better way.

  3. In FF im pretty much the casual raider. I think im doing okay but normal raids and similar content is made to be accessable (which is a very good thing)
As someone who raids way more serious in another game: those types of raiders are in every MMO, not only FFXIV

  4. I don't know where I stand. I don't even raid anymore because my experience with a static was so awful that I don't want to go through with it again.

I'm very paranoid about fucking up and getting yelled at.

  5. You give raid leaders too much credit. We are not, by default, more skilled than average. I just stumbled into my leadership role because I wanted to raid, and needed 7 more people. I recruited out of selfishness, not because I was a skilled or talented raider/leader. After 3 years I am still an average player who messes up callouts lol. On the bright side. I made many friends through being the incidental "leader"

  7. Loved it! Some types of raiders that I found present in my group or previous ones are :
    1. The Consistent one ; pretty much always steadily performs, communicates when needed, never late, overall the type of person you just want to have
    2. The heart of the party – Even when progging is going slow, they will be there to cheer the party on, the last one to leave when things go wrong and always good for a smile
    3. The Quiet one – They're just.. There? They can either be really good or really bad players, rarely inbetween, but you have no idea whats going on in their mind. They're just there and there to kill.
    4. The Friend – Either the person to sub in because noone else would or perhaps someone you are helping ; they aren't really sure what they're doing, but its okay! They're steadily learning and you're here for the ride.
    5. The 9th Person – Always there to replace or fill in when someone is sick, practically already in the Static. Often plays way too many roles and performs pretty well somehow.
    6. The Rage quitter – Either extremely toxic or extremely quiet, they will join a party and if there's so much as one wipe, they are out. Leaving and noone is gonna be able to convince them to stay.
And 7, the Girlfriend/Boyfriend – They're really only here because of the partner, and they're often just trying their best. Often favored by their s/o but can be funny to have around

  8. Despite playing for years, EW was the first expansion that I decided to get out of my comfort zone of normal mode difficulty and try EX trials.

I started off as a "clear for one" player doing some old EXs synced + no echo. Now I'm a "blind runner", but have yet to clear an EX without watching a guide with learning parties. I think its been the most fun I've had in the game in years from sticking to normal mode difficulty.

  9. Omg this is great 😂 it totally applies to WoW raiders too. I've gone through perfectionist > party finder > to now skill issue💅

Also loooove your hair colour❤️ Mine is pretty much the same but it washes out so quickly 🙁

  10. I am a masochistic Party Finder Raider lol It pains me. HOWEVER I am also the C41 party as the leader who needs clearing. Reason 1: I have mastered the fight in practice parties and am ready to farm without a millions wipes. And two, I fsrm the EX totems for my husband after I get my mount or totems. By then, I can do them jn my sleep and don't want to join clear or prog parties.

PS Jenova peeps, I am Megaera Silvermoon the BLM. Say hi if you see me 🙂

  11. there is a small misconception I want to make clear about raid leading.

it can be seen/called/pronounced in many ways but here is basically how I see it from exp.

a well organized group usually has the roles and responsibilities split between either 2 or more members so in this case I would say there is a static leader and a raid leader.

the SL is the one organizing schedule, recruitment etc.
while the RL takes care of strat choices and callouts.

  12. sry for posting yet another comment.

While I can understand your choice of staying casual Avy, I do encourage you to tip your toe into high end raiding.
while it can be harsh sometimes I do think you would miss out on a entirely different kind of enjoyment that is hard to match and shows (at least imo besides msq) XIV at its best.

  13. I consider myself the "casual parser" i will do my weekly content and do my best to parse well and get sad if its a bad run due to deaths of the party or w.e. but i wont join barse parties cause tbh its cheating and not fun.

  14. I will only host the C41 for myself if I know beyond a reasonable doubt that I know the fight.

    .
…and I make sure to set my requirements to "Duty Complete." 🙃

  15. Hi, this doesn't have anything to do with the video and feel free to ignore it if you don't want to answer. But in a bit over a month the NA fan fest will be out, and a bit after that the media tour. I wanted to ask, if you get asked to attend it and female Hrothgar were announced, would you showcase their emotes? You are the only FFXIV youtouber who has shown a care about them.

  16. yeah, there is one type of raider not mentioned, a type I haven't seen in other games.

Date-a-Raiders usually it's a gay male looking to date other gay males, but they only want guys who can clear. I saw it twice since 2015, sure observational bias due to being queer and usually joining other LGBTQAI+ raids. But seriously two times!!

  17. My static has 2 skill issues… I'm married to one of em. Luckily my wife does eventually learn and master fights, it took maybe 25-30 hours of Voidcast ex for her to lock it down. The other person, though, is our healer… the only person in my static who hasn't gotten the weapon from the ex because everyone else ran it without her to get clears 🙁

I feel bad but game time is limited and wiping to double meteors for 5 straight hours made me want to uninstall

  18. Another type: The Bitter Vet – That person who has been raiding for a long time. I mean, a really long time. To the point that they could probably put it on their resume because of the sheer volume of time they have put into it over the years. But as time has gone on, they have become… disenchanted with the whole experience. They might have been one of the other types in the past, or perhaps several of them even, but now? They are tired. They've seen all kinds of mechanics, played most if not all of the different roles, and have experienced all of the drama that can happen in raid groups. It really does seem like they are just doing raiding now more out of habit than any genuine love for the act – that died in them some time ago. The silver lining? They do tend to be quick learners, reliable, and will push through all sorts of difficulties – after all, they've seen all this before.

  19. 2:42 that's BIG tail, damn
5:02 I'm at a point where I'm ready to wipe at every pf for prog just have something to do, learning different fights atm
7:55 I remember making a pf for diamond EX, it was quite late in SHB and no one was really doing it anymore (and I haven't clear yet).
No one joined, I sat there until a group of 7 people (same fc) jumped in and said they'll help me clear.
One of my good memories from pf. We got a clear.
    Thank you, pf helpers

  20. Joined a static for the current tier but did Abyssos on PF, I'm not one to get angry, but it makes me upset when tanks don't mitigate tankbusters, raiding on PF is the sole reason why half of the tank population lives in my blacklist. 😭
