10 Types Of FFXIV Players

10 Types of Final Fantasy 14 Players! Are you the casual? The raider or maybe the roleplayer? This video goes through 10 of the most popular players I’ve noticed, or in general 10 types of players I know of in FFXIV. I will do a part 2 and maybe 3 on this series if you guys have some suggestions for other player types!

Final Fantasy XIV is a great MMO RPG, my personal favorite. And recently I started making content on the game with my friend @RhayaPolaali! I post weekly FFXIV content, and I hope you all enjoy it!

  1. I used to be a fantasia addict, but now I'm a female viera that could never change her because I became too attached to her. I am definitely a mix of a lounger, glam collector, gambler and roleplayer, although I rarely actually do roleplay on a regular basis. Still, I have a backstory and biography of all my characters. I even write short stories of them and spend a lot of time doing gposes! ^^

  2. I'd say that I could be considered a subsection of 8: An Alt-oholic. Why spend real money when you can make an alt for free!? Though it helps that I find going through ARR oddly relaxing.

  3. Just started playing a few days ago and so far I've been kinda lone wolfing it. Finally got into a grand company and got a mount and am pretty dang pumped about not having to run everywhere… would have gotten there sooner but I kinda overdid it with the side quests and only got to the ifrit mission at like level 35 😅

Next main goal is to complete the mission to go from Marauder to Warrior. Aaaaand then maybe one day start socializing more. I'm just not used to mmos or playing games with strangers like exclusively so its a bit intimidating since I don't really know any friends that play.

  4. I'm a casual because I'm still a sprout so I'm trying to understand stuff but also I am a lone wolf. Not by choice tho, I'm just shy and won't talk unless someone else starts a conversation 😔 I pray for that all the time I log in but it still didn't happen and I wish to meet friends in this game but… Im too anxious to start 😩

  5. I am a mix! I am casual mostly I do not do any raids though. I learned my lesson! I do level all my jobs including all my crafting. I also lvl my 7 other alts so I am not still for to long. I also like decorating my fc and personal house. It's medicore but I like how I decorate so I am happy.

  6. While I’m definitely a casual and a glamor collector, and TECHNICALLY a crafter… I think gatherer should be a category.
Listen. If you set up right, you’re just going from timed node to timed node forever. Hit rock hit tree hit rock hit tree. Brainless. Perfect. My friends said “it’s really monotonous” and I said “🥺 do you promise?”
If I don’t stop myself I end up gathering the same mushroom for five hours and I don’t… it’s not even a good mushroom. Nobody wants this.

Do NOT get me started on the diadem…….

But also fisher should be a separate category.
It’s like….. fishers are to gatherers what raiders are to regular players.

I have a friend who’s caught every fish and he scares me.

  7. Though I'd say I am mostly a mix of almost all of these, I heavly lean towards crafter, lounger and glamour collector, with some fantasia addiction mixed in. I usually combine crafting and lounging by crafting by my FC house and chatting with my FC at the same time.

  8. I guess I fit "casual" best of all, but I am also a glam collector, crafter/gatherer, gambler, & performer. I log in and I NEED to be doing something almost non-stop or what is the point of logging in, so, you won't often see me camping out around at my house/fc/apartment/hub/where much (unless my friends get me to chat with them for a bit, but I have general anxiety, and have need to keep moving, so it doesn't last long). I still intend to eventually have all jobs maxed someday, I just have to get over my tank-xiety first! 😅 Also you have peer pressured and guilted me into subbing, I hope you feel good about yourself. 😝

  9. I'm an even rare breed, the achievement hunter, i want to get all the in game achievements…you gotta be crazy to do that, also invest a ton of time into the game. I have over 300 days of playtime and still am not finished. Also bought everything at the gold saucer and capped the MGP 🙂

  10. Definitely a mix of casual and lone wolf these past several months, as things have been changing in my life. So burnt out on raiding, I don’t even feel like ever doing it again. The mere thought of doing it again is headache inducing. Burnt out on EXs too ever since I’ve needed to grind out 99 totems for the first three EXs of Endwalker. I no longer have the free time I used to that made doing any of that tolerable.

Fortunately, at least FF XIV has plenty more to offer other then raiding, and everything outside of raiding has been enjoyable for me. It’s perfect for the casual lone wolf I’ve become.

  11. I'm a mixture of both the first and second types of players. I still need to finish Shadowbringers, and I keep getting distracted with everything around me. Been grinding level for jobs that I'm interested in playing, running countless dungeons in order to find the perfect glamours, and exploring the open world around me.

  12. I call myself a casual player, since I like to do a little bit of everything, but I'm also in two raid statics that're both tackling all the high end content in the game, from the Coils of Bahamut to the newest content. (One of them is doing it at Minimum Item Level and No Echo (MINE), the hardest difficulty possible and the closest to how hard it was when that raid tier first came out.) So, maybe I should consider myself a raider, since I raid regularly three times a week XD. Then again, I also love crafting, and have every crafting/gathering class leveled to my MSQ level or above… Though I haven't actually finished the MSQ yet, since I like to take my time lol.
I watched your other videos, too, and they're all quite nice 🙂 definitely earned a new subscriber from me!

  13. I'm def a number 10, lone wolf. I'm not in an FC, my friends list is empty and I just log on, do what I want and log off. I don't really talk to anyone in game either. I don't have any anxiety issues, I just have stuff to do and I don't want to be bogged down by conversations.
