  1. Taking a break after the end of Endwalker, will most likely come back near the start of the next expansion. There are a lot of games I need to finish that I purchased on steam 😀

  2. 8:32 hard disagree there, or do you want this game to turn to WoW with endless bloat on achievements and collectables? I guess so. Getting every job to 90 is already time consuming as it is and it will get worse since they must add new jobs in the future as an e.g. Starting jobs from lvl 1 and 30 is a pain.

  3. Theres alot of things to do, the problem is people want to do EW stuff not old content, Deep Dungeon, Maps, Relics are a huge time sinker, Ocean Fishing, Gold Saucer, MINE Trials/Raids, Bozja/Eureka, crafting/gathering, hunts, Blu Mage weeklys. Theres alot of weekly content like the book. Anyways as you say, if you don't like side content then dont force yourself to burnout just unsub. TBH I still havent started on EW, been stuck in Eureka with the Relics after I finished Bozja although Bozja isnt 100% complete yet. Why I feel people leave or burnout is because they play solo, even old content or any content can be fun when you hang out with people or friends.

Side note: I do agree the developers are done for the time being. They are working on the huge graphical update first. Until that happens new story will happen

  4. I also feeling burnout, My initial goal is to make all combat jobs to have level 80 but with the repetitiveness, i sometimes didn't have the motivation to do it. All I have to do is dungeon and dungeon. Other than that, fishing or crafting is also not my thing. What else… Savage and Ultimate is not my thing also since it's really not my jam (unless i get a static but it's too taxing to have to commit to certain time to do it)

I have unsub and just play another game (GW2, Skyrim, etc..)

  5. It's weird – I've played FFXIV since ARR open beta (or was it prerelease, now? It's been so long that I can't rightly remember…), and I've certainly taken a few extended breaks over the years, but I am less burnout prone with this game than I have been with any other MMO I've ever played. I can't really explain why. Right now, for example, I'm not necessarily "excited" to log in every day and I don't feel compelled to sit at my computer and grind out relic weapons for 14 hours a day on a weekend at the moment, but I will still log in daily and do roulettes until I've at least capped my high tomestones for the week and gotten my weekly raid goodies. In other games, this would have been the point where I was so disgusted even looking at the launcher that I couldn't even bring myself to log in, ever. I don't really get like that with FFXIV.

Now… in the interest of fairness, I do have a medium house in Shirogane that I am heavily invested in not losing, ever, so that itself should be enough to keep me logging in, but yet… it wasn't, in a previous game that I played, so I don't even know that housing is enough to "blame" for how I interact with XIV.

Eorzea feels like home, to me. This version of my "usual" video game self-insert avatar feels like the canon version of her. It's just part of my life.

  6. we could use a daily reward system in the game it would make the game more playable when there is no content to digest like they already have the foundation there with the challenge log system they just need to apply it to a broader scope like give people more incentives like add a token which can be used to obtain any glamour or mount of the person's choosing we reach a point where people stop doing old raids for example so why not then add that dyeable gear and those mounts to a system they can be obtained from alternatively thru a method that requires only that you clear a list of objectives/challenges.
this would 100% motivate people to do more things if they had something worthwhile to work towards so my proposal would be make a log that resets on weekly timer like everything else but can the objectives in the log can be completed thru out the entire week up til reset day and make the rewards be like this:
    category- dungeons
    * complete x amount of dungeons reward: 25,000 gil and x exp(level based equivalency)
    * complete one expert roulette reward: 10,000 gil
    * complete a deep dungeon reward: 8,000 gil x amount exp
    * complete a ARR dungeon reward : 50,000 gil x EXP
COMPLETION OF ALL OBJECTIVE REWARD= one (insert clever abstract name) token which is redeemable for any item in the "daily" turn in shop and they can make it so that the type of item is worth more tokens like say a glamour coffer would be worth 6 daily tokens or mount horn worth 8 tokens
not only would this keep players engaged in doing content but it would also help new players out too who want to play with others etc. and they'll never run out of rewards to give us either by unlocking old rewards that are no longer obtainable by reasonable means. this would give players a goal to strive towards an keep them busy while the devs are working on newer content for us to enjoy

  7. 9:39 Oh god yes, I think the Personalities would be a good fit for FFXIV and better yet having them unlocked through gam rewards instead of having to buy the from the online store would be so nice. Eso needs more free Personalities that you have to earn.

  8. I went back to wow solely for all the various activities you can get lost in between content patches. Ffxiv just doesn't compare to the collecting theme park that wow has become.

  9. I'm currently stuck in a burnout mode, I find myself logging in maybe once a week. I was really excited about pvp but I can't just bring myself to run content right now even though I finished endwalker, and the main issue I have is the motivation just isn't there when you are solo playing.

  10. It's like if you get into a manga like One Piece. There's 100's of chapters, all this epic stuff is happening, you start reading it hooks you in, it feels like it will never end!!! except then you catch up to the current chapter… and now you have to wait for the next chapter! Like the rest of us! It's a different kind of excitement to wait on the next chapter…we all wish we could just have a 100 more chapters to read but there isn't any. It sucks but there's still more to come!

  12. Talking about taking a break. Would you ever be interested in doing a Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Stream? Would love to see you play it.

  13. I feel like I am from totally different world (generation actually).

I remember a time when we played games to play them. Not for some reward tied into progression and whatnot.

We played Counter Strike for the pvp experience. Not any reward associated with it.
Now there’s lootbox and progression that are required for people to take interest in.
