  1. I have thought of this before, make it legalized!
I have gotten sick of seeing AFKers in Limsa/Gridania just taking up my view from looking at the nice city state, I cant go past the MB in Lima without my character glitching floating and get a bang noise suddenly from the audio catching up. I love lalas was former lalas but I absolutely get annoyed hearing lalas and miqos emote a high pitch yell nonstop. I truly wish there were world designated for gamers who want to game and those that only log in to look nice and e/rp. But no they're everywhere

  2. There is only one reason I would want this, when I do the MSQ. During battle I feel like it's too cheaty but when I'm trying to do MSQ, or new quests that just came out, I absolutely hate seeing 50 people gathered around an npc and I can't even see them, I don't know how the npc looks like, I can't see their animations because other players are blocking the npc from my view. It makes doing new content when it just came out miserable for me personally because it takes me out of the experience. The obvious answer to this is to just wait a day or two when the rush dies down, but then I'm not able to experience content when it's new. Something like a keybind you can toggle players on/off would be nice for doing story. It would make it more personal and you can appreciate the work the devs did with animating the npcs.

  3. i know ffxiv is highly populated but i feel like the only time i even see people is in the main cities so i feel like this isn't even a problem outside of those main cities where people are just standing around. ill be honest i really dont interact with anyone outside of the multiplayer content in the game but the other players dont bother me.

  4. let me tell u the answer to that first question, players turned to mmos this days because almost all the companies produce shitty single players and we get a good one among 100 every year

  5. I feel like if someone wants to play this game for what it is, but don't want to see other people, they should be allowed to do that. One of the people in that thread put it well: This is a FF JRPG 1st, MMO 2nd. Like 90% of this game is already playable as a solo experience, and Yoshi-P himself said he wants to take more steps to allow a more single-player experience for those who want it. Hiding players is an option that benefits those who want such an option, and is a detriment to literally nobody else. It sounds like a no-brainer to me.

  6. I've been playing MMOs since 1995 with "The Realm", and ever since then I've suggested that when you put a player on your ignore list, it completely obliterates them from your game. So far, not one gaming company has ever done this, that I know of.

  7. Why would someone play an MMO to play completely alone? Can't talk for everyone but I don't play games to play with other people. I'm trying to be entertained, not signing up to babysit several socially and physically inept animals. Some games happen to have interesting world/story and fun gameplay. For example, I don't need other players to enjoy world exploration in GW2. I don't need other players to enjoy FF14s story, I'm just strongarmed into dealing with their bs because developers haven't adapted the whole game for the Trust system yet.

ShB and Endwalker were wonderful thanks to the Trust system. But every normal trial I did was EXTREMELY painful thanks to local populace. My enjoyment of ff14 would skyrocket if I could straight up play through it with bots at all times.

  8. If you can’t accept that FF14 is an MMO, it may not be the game for you. I say this as a FF-first player. I avoided 14 for years because I’m not really an MMO fan but decided to take the leap anyway and have no regrets. Would I play any other MMO? Probably not. That doesn’t mean that I think 14 needs to overly cater to people who want a single player experience either. Again, if you don’t want to play an MMO, don’t play FF14. You’re not entitled to play a game.

  9. It is possible to hide all people.. but it is 110 level magic.. and it can only be used when there is full moon and there are green elephants.. marching in the forest. Magic scroll is divided in seven parts and all different parts has been hidden in the lowest levels of 110 level dungeons. To combine all parts.. you need to play seven right tunes..

  10. It's easy to forget that while yes ffxiv is an mmo, it's still also a mainline final fantasy game. A lot of solo rpg (past ff) players want to experience the story and a lot of them might have social anxiety.
But I do not think "hide all" is the anwser. I'd rather think it'd be easier to hide yourself from everyone else if you're scared that you get RPed on Limsa. It also would help if someone stalks you I think

  11. I almost missed a duty roulette queue popping because I made the mistake of teleporting into Limsa. It was a hot minute before my ps4 finished loading the area and all the players hanging around the aetheryte. A nice compromise would be a "hide some players" you can toggle on and off for congested areas.

  12. The first reply is the best answer to this – Its an MMO first and foremost; the ability to do things solo should be there but it should not be the entirety of the game; not to mention it then sets the president for small leaps in logic to 10 years from now paying a sub for a single player game. No thank you – and if you think im crazy for thinking thats a future outcome; go tell yourself 10 years ago about diablo immortal and tell me that you would have believed it back then.

  13. The only reason I think this would be a good idea is for streamers. When you got people like Asmongold being hunted down by a mob for their 5 seconds of fame, that shit can really kill an experience.

  14. i dont think being dismissive of people who already don't like multiplayer games or mmos is gonna want them to start/keep playing the game. its just a way that they prefer to play, and i don't think its an unreasonable request either lol I see a lot of people at work and living my life and having a nice beautiful world to walk and explore in on my own terms sounds pretty nice.

  15. I don't see why ppl would want that. Lorewise, there's even a good explanation for all the other ppl being around – since they're fellow adventurers.
