  1. Unfortunately some people need to hear that things are good or bad on a regular basis. That goes double for the people that find it irritating enough to post about it on reddit.

  2. What a weird take. Sort top posts in that exact sub and you'll find many filled with players being mean to single-pull tanks. Being cruel has become accepted, even favored, in large swaths of our community. It's vital for someone with a platform like Zepla's to speak out against that.

  3. "low hanging fruit" okay, sure, talking about the idea of people being mean being a bad thing IS fairly obvious stuff, you could describe it as low hanging fruit perhaps, BUT it's pretty clear from the fact that people being incredibly rude and toxic is still such a common thing, talking about it is also necessary. There's always a little bit of hope that someone will see those videos, realise that they've fallen into those patterns of behaviour and perhaps even make some effort to change, of course the majority won't, but the potential for it might just lead to someone having a slightly better experience and that's worth it.

  4. Reacting to Reddit posts is about as close as you get to interacting with the community, and getting a feel for the views of the community without doing polls. Nothing wrong with those videos.

I do want to see Zepla do more news and speculation videos since stable in America now.

  5. outside of making original meme videos like pint there is nothing to really make content on other than current topics or dramas. FFXIV is a great game to play but streaming and content is as barren as death valley.

  6. Low-key, Zepla reading out the parody let's not be mean comments genuinely sounded indistinguishable from normal Zepla content but hey, it's perfect background noise while working so no hate

  7. Took a peek at that thread but it didn't take a while until I had to stop before the sense of entitlement in the comments gave me a headache. The whole place is just a circlejerk for horrible people.

  8. Honestly I'm pretty cool with zepler videos being discussions from stream about community stuff. Obviously 14 isn't an infinite content machine for making videos, so it's not a big deal if some of the videos you upload aren't super high effort, simple videos can still be entertaining 🙂

  9. Having browsed that thread itself because I like that subreddit sometimes, I'm concerned by some of the comments that a few people unironically believed that thumbnail was of a real Zepla video.

  10. I'm personally happy that Zepla put these videos on this separate channel as they feel completely different from her usual content. It's also nice to see her seemingly on a daily basis here on this channel.

  11. There's also a huge difference between a video on her main channel, and a video on this channel….. this is just her hanging out on her own stream, talking to the people there with her. I appreciate the highlights getting posted on youtube since I don't have the time for Twitch. But I don't expect the BIG SHINY QUALITY CONTENT on this channel. This channel is just hanging out.

  12. all this "just chatting" content is really perfect for background noise. i like having some opinions of the game thrown in when im grinding out some frontline or whatever. much better than being forced to focus on salty tryhards arguing in chat instead of playing the game.

  13. FFXIV is a horrible game to make content about. The gameplay loop is 95%deterministic which means the balance discord alone makes most non-boss specific guides redundant. Savage raiding is extremly boring to watch and only a few amount of streamer carry this misery with their fancy personality (Arthars Xeno Serenaya etc.). The story is told from A to Z with 98% of the narrative being told one by one. Not much room for theorists to make content on. PvP is still not good and the snapshot and serverticks system make it feel weird, especially as a watcher. And watching the 1000th glam contest gets stale really quickly as well.
Playing the game is alright, watching someone is mid at best.

  14. Imagine being a WoW style content creator and coming over to FF14 and finding all the stuff you used to make vids about actually being in the game instead.

"So Emet-Selch is this guy who …" "Uh yeah, we've all played the MSQ as well".

As opposed to "There's the guy called the Jailer and we have no idea WTF he's on about and here's my lore theory about 40 NPCs and 200 plotlines that got abandoned and here's my summary of Blizzard's new book".

  15. Zepla had to flee her city; her house and her neighborhood have been literally erased from the map; she spent six months changing countries in Europe and still manage to create some content in that time and here there are, people complaining about her content…. I mean I really wander in which planet those people are living in. Good to her to take this with humor. I am pissed for her.

  16. Great and familiar points about being content creator! Sometimes I think how much you need to concentrate on one certain topic and when avoiding too much branches. It might be harder when you are interested in so many different things and it may in practice lead to separate YT channels. For example, you are content creator who is interested about games and programming. In the end you might need to create two separate channels: one for gaming and another one for programming.

  17. Tbh, I just stopped watching most of Zepla's videos a while back, because I wasn't interested in the low effort drama content and it is true at this point, she probably has done any possible video topic available. Same with Pathra. I don't watch Twitch live and primarily watch FFXIV content on YT. There can only be so much content made for the game before the creators start rehashing or run out of fresh ideas.

  18. Hey! I'm very new to FFXIV and stumbled onto your channel recently despite the YouTube algorithm, so I just wanted to share that as some form of encouragement. And if anyone gives you grief for a drop in recent uploads when you're literally fleeing from a war you can safely ignore them. I like your videos and your sense of humor, keep it up! 🙂
