  1. I just finished HW and have a really hard time moving on to Stormblood.
Leaving Ishgard behind, all the people there…
Aymeric, the Fortemps family, Estinien (my so far favorite) gone and everyone else there…
Idk, it just sucks at the moment.
Weird, because I've never experienced such feelings before in a game.

  2. Once again, nervous about all his fans coming back. Cactuar already stands on a precipice of being a toxic wasteland, I hope everyone is respectful and behaves themselves and really tempers their Gamer™ Humor™

  3. Honestly, I don't understand why SB gets so much hate. I loved SB but I didn't mind the slowed down story elements and the build up was needed for shadowbringers/EW. Not everything needs to be at fast paced for me though, of course just my opinion. 🙂 I am glad to see him playing again for sure, I love watching new players go through the story. 😀

  4. Really really cool, Asmon belongs with the ffxiv family. He is just a cool dude, well spoken, kind but direct, and I welcome him to our haven. He can only make it a better place. If you ever need anything Asmon I got your back bro.

  5. What Asmon left and returning.. was not it.. yesterday.. when he played the game. Time goes so fast. It's odd that those hype things that Zepla talks.. feels like they had happened few days ago. Time really goes like lightspeed..

  7. I loved watching Asmon go through MSQ but does anyone believe this at this point? He has said he is coming back to XIV a shit load of times over the last 4-5 months lmao.

  8. I struggled with storm blood because… I simply didn't like the story. Through the whole expansion, I though it was boring and dragged out far too long. It wasn't even until the patches that I though the story was actually getting interesting. It was getting through the main story that was hard. Because unlike in ARR where it was easy to sympathize with the MC and her companions/allies, in stormblood, I couldn't sympathize with any of the WoL's allies (least of all Lyse, which I though was a huge character assassination, when they finally gave her one). It was easier to sympathize with the enemy side than the allies, and made me wish I could have joined Zenos.

  9. Tbh I don't think he'll stop. He might take a break in between but probably a much shorter one. The last time he stopped playing was kind of out of his control understandably. See people who know what happened and still get mad at him that he stopped playing which probably didn't help him with wanting to come back to the game. The community as a whole was fine but there were some really standout vitriolic hatred that asmon got. Not to mention very toxic people that showed up in his community and would shame people who enjoyed watching him playing things besides FF14

  10. I agree I enjoyed it because Shadowbringers was out at the time, so I got to experience all of Stormblood from start to finish. Best dungeons hands down out of all the expansions and best dungeon music.

  12. We've all gotta remember. The guy was going through a tough time in the midst of his FFXIV run. An unfortunate event in his real life derailed the momentum and I think ultimately it was good for him to step away from the game.

His return will be good for the game. Driving the numbers up during content lulls is never a bad thing. I'd always wonder what kind of impact for a guy as big as him would have on new expansion drops and WF Ultimate races. Hopefully we get to see it come next time.

  13. One of my favorite examples of a successful transition from One Core Content to variety was when Day9 established "Day9's Day Off". Obviously it was still work but I feel like that framing is genius. It sort of eases the performative pressure on both sides of the stream and communicates clearly "This day is about something different than usual and it will always be on X day of the week" so fans can plan around it or look forward to it as they will.

As for what to branch to, such a dedicated Final Fantasy fanbase might enjoy Playthroughs of classic FFs from the perspective of seeing/sharing what inspired FF14 content and nerding out over parallels and references, etc.
Alternatively, something extrapolated from the tone and vibe of the stream itself might be most appropriate. Something social/creative with a focus on community or aesthetics. Hard to say what that might be, of course.
