Basically Hien tasked yugiri to check the pulse of the people of Doma……if the people still have the desire to fight the empire then he will help them with his blade. If they don't want to continue to try to fight the empire then he'll give himself up to the empire LOL I hope that makes better sense.
Yugiri's original voice actress was murdered so that's why she was gone for so long. The voice you hear here is different from her in previous scenes.
Yugiri is best wholesome girl. Wife material for sure.
This is my favorite zone of this entire expansion. I love all the themes going on here. This is where I feel the expansion really began for me. All the subtle trauma that was building up, all the horror Yotsuyu wreaked in the Ruby Sea, it felt like it just boiled over here for me. You actually get to hear the absolute fear these people have. It’s a total mind fuck in the best way possible. In the flashback sequence with the survivor of the massacre you get just the tiniest glimpse into the mind of Zenos as a villain and yet get the entire picture at the same time: this is a sport; it’s a tediously boring game of fox hunting to him until you come and crash it. That wicked smile at the end just reaffirms your meaning to him. You’re the first bit of fun he has had in a very, very long time and the only thing that gives him any semblance of joy. It really is beautiful writing in how simple it is, but really goes unappreciated in comparison to the epic rush from Heavensward and later Shadowbringers. This expansion is a slow burn, but imo it’s a really intense burn that doesn’t get enough credit.
And yes, Yugiri is the shit lol If I had any inclination to the female persuasion I feel like Yugiri would be waifu material for sure. She’s a total badass, and she has fabulous hair 😂 This is where they really shine the light on the supporting cast more too, I feel. You get a lot more personal interaction with them and really begin to feel a bond with them. I’m glad you’re enjoying your journey so far!
Lol you running after Isse was funny
I was pretty salty after Zenos kicked my character's butt the first time, and in such a humiliating way.. but this second encounter with him is where it all turned around. Because not only did I accept by then that we had to hit a low point to be able to overcome it, but also.. Zenos REALLY is excited about how we're getting stronger, after that fight. Really excited about us, for the first time, instead of looking down on us. And.. what can I say, it's flattering! Also you can tell someone by the caliber of their enemies, and he's a real monster, so it elevates us too~
You're going through these FAST yo
0:30 "We might've summoned a primal. Oops, I guess." That happens with disturbing frequency, actually.
1:40 Yeah, the Yanxia music is gorgeous.
12:15 If Doma's people are willing to fight, he'll return to lead them. If they're resolved to give in once and for all and fight no more he'll surrender himself to be put to death to keep the peace.
14:20 We left him behind in Kugane. Shame, he really could've used the kojin blessing. =-)
19:15 Nope. You mentioned that weird fistclap habit of the WoL's in one of your earliest videos and I remarked it would rub off on others.
39:05 Ahh, yes. The uniform quest. That was a good laugh.
1:02:15 He gave Yotsuyu leave to wreck Doma just to rile up its people to attack him so he could kill them for sport.
"The Time Between the Seconds" is so good. This zone is where StB got good. Its just so sad and frustrating going through the zone, but you also can understand their plight. Even some of the emperial conscripts are caught up in the same problem. The empire truly has a terrible system.
The blowdart section tho 😂 I love this zone and the music so much ❤
12:56 — Hien is a very cool character who like to embellish his speech – not quite as much as Urianger but yeah 😀
1:04:01 — Well, she didnt just "found it on a beach", that sword it a kojin treasure – and we know what these things can to by now. Items in this universe, if they are said to have magical or divine properties, you better believe it ^^°
Well, Doma isnt quite liberated yet but you'll get to one of the best parts in the expansion soon 🙂
22:07 What's so special about Hien is that he's the 'Ruler' of Doma after his father's death. He's the person people will follow and fight for. The WoL is a nobody here. They don't know you, or what you've done. You're just some random foreigner.
40:42 He's not trying to act tough, his statement is to show that he is also a conscript, taken from his home and forced to fight for the Garleans. That's what they do, they conquer lands and conscript the people of those lands to go and conquer other lands, where they then collect more conscripts. And so on and so forth.
46:18 Yes it is easy to say you'd just fight. But that's only because you're not thinking fully of the real consequences. If you fight, your family, parents, children, brothers and sisters, They will be the ones to pay the price. You may fight and die, but they will be left to suffer, be tortured or worse. Isse already implied to us what that Imperial would do to his little sister. In fact this incident itself is a direct result of us and the confederacy fighting back against the empire. Add to that the fact that most of the people that can actually fight are already dead, or have been taken, and you can see the hopelessness of their situation.
I giggled very inappropriately at the parents grave edit
That chat with Yugiri at the shore is one of my favorite moments with her, it is both fitting and a pity that you had rain for that scene 😅
In sunlight or with light fog, that shot at 51:10 makes for a great wallpaper.
Zenos is hard to get but the best way to describe him is he's like one punch man. Bored of being too strong and desperate for entertainment.
