  1. I would like to point out, people who like video games, much like anime, are still ridiculed this is why so much of AAA games try o be movie/tv series adjacent, spewing bullshit like "the medium needs to grow up" and then create stories that do not need the medium of video games to exist (The Last of Us working so well as a tv show just shows that it really doesn't need to be a video game, unlike something like 13 Sentinels or Nier Automata, which I am 100% certain they won't do ending E, since it is an ending that needs the medium of video games for the full effect, so they will either stop on D or will create a new ending). Video games are already one of, if not the biggest entertainment in the world (surely in profits), we don't need every game to cater to everyone, we just need to have games for everyone. This is why we don't need easy modes under the guise of "accessibility". This is why franchises like Dark Souls do not need an easy mode, let games not be for everyone, because gaming is, so those people might not be able to enjoy Dark Souls, but they will enjoy other games, and that is a good thing. Also, the more mainstream something becomes the less edgy and experimental it becomes, just take a look at Sony's exclusives, most if not all games made by their western studios look and play the same, the AAA mold for "serious" stories. Sony will never again do something lime Gravity Rush, because anime boobs are not what "the mainstream" expects, because it is not "mature" enough. Basically, not wanting for a mainstream audience happens because for that mainstream to be achieved, much of the soul that made it niche is almost always lost.

  2. I dislike gatekeepers since they tend to be very racist, sexist and misanthropic. With that said, some people do have to be ignored in gaming communities, like toxic fans that harass people. Also, about accessibility, video games are a form of art, and there's the risk of a video game becoming a bland product if producers force video game developers to follow arbitrary standards of what is considered accessible. Yes, the fans can offer valid criticism of the mechanics of a game, but there's a difference between getting actual useful feedback and just following popular trends.

  3. Wasn't sure on ff16 but after hearing that they'll give rings to help combat, well I just might play it now. I've always been a turn based person because it allows me to think but I can diverse sometimes.
