I'd honestly love if i could do ultimates solo with the trust or something. For some people is hard finding a static or cant learn from guides or just want everything blind.
Would be so helpful if we had that option
First comment. Your cat is so adorable! <3
"Cosmic exploration", "Garlemald restoration", meanwhile, Ala Mhigo sits there, with all that garlean rubble. lol.
DRK needs rework
Worrying about PCT nerf reducing the jobs population seems rather stupid to me as the BLM population is drowing. I get pct is shiny and new but people are already doing to play it because its new. I feel yoshi p tries too hard to not offend people on things that it ends up making stuff sorta stale and annoying to me. if its talking about buffing other jobs, i also dont agree to deal with power creep by buffing other jobs just so pct players dont feel bad.
Also the more difficult you make content, the more people will try to make it easier, from people that are mediocre and feel like they are behind to the people that want to get an edge to be better. Especially ones that dont want to feel left out. Most people eill never own a ferrari no matter how much they work or try. Its a game thats a live service that you do not own and only have access to, people will try to get all that they want out of the game if they can while thry can since MMOS are FOMO designed not like owning a ferrari for life and the value. Not a fan with the take on the fanfest fron yoshi p. A lot of L takes from yoshi p this interview i agree with mr happy.
The reason for not having a Garlemald Restoration is….odd, when you consider the fact that the twins were aiding the Garleans just fine in post ew, unless I'm missing something here….

"Are big screen shot deegens" Yea, they literally had to put in a "Dont show your butt patch" to adventurer plates XD …it doesnt work that well..lol
What about Alamigo restoration?! Eh?!
Where is that at?! The only Erozian nation not to have a proper capital city and connection to the plot would be a big deal to restor! Heck, one step further than Ishgard as players crafting to restor a capital city rather than just a new section of a city!
I tried PCT but I didn't like it so, I'll resub when BLM crappy damage gets fixed
Thanks for the update
did the people that requested garlean restoration not play the post-endwalker quests?
Garlean restoration before Ala Mhigo restoration would be mad annoying (and insulting from a story perspective)
Re cosmic exploration….
The devs would literally rather shoot us into outer space than let us restore Ala Mhigo
We got the doman quarter. We got ishgard. Almost a decade later and Ala Mhigo still ignored
I'm honestly quite miffed with the people who are using tools or buying ultimate clears and bringing the "prestige" of the clears down. There are players who work really hard to earn these titles or wear the weapons. I remember being so proud when I finally cleared TEA. It's my first and sadly only Ultimate. Since then I've started having seizures and my brain can't process mechanics quick enough. I'm not even doing savage anymore because I've lost my confidence. It's at the point now where I never wear my titles or weapons because if I'm having a slow brain day and I make a mistake, folks will think I bought my clear. Which is just another kick on top of the fact I struggle to do high end raiding now. I miss it so much. Not being able to do Eden Ulti is going to break my heart a little. Eden is the best.
Edit: I paused and commented this before you spoke about pride. I still very much have my pride in my clears and I'm so thankful I did clear it before my seizures started. TEA was my biggest goal and I often rewatch our clear video just to feel a happy lil buzz and relive some great memories.
But other peoples views on something can definitely taint how we feel about things. Like you mentioned with the UWU example. It's a sad truth but still a truth. We should fight against this kind of thing but I don't know how to fight it in my case. If I wear my weapon and perform badly it's only going to feed into the stereotype of players who buy clears.
Honestly as someone who is stuck in a hard place with clearing my first ultimate in UCoB, i can understand where yoshi p is coming from about it. as it stands, my group is very much a group who throws everything to the wind and they like to use sites to allow us to practice mechs and i dont really have a say in it where i want to actually do the fight legit. i could drop the group but this is my static as well. i kind of just suck it up and know that after ucob, at least for a little while most likely i wont have to deal with the fact that we are using other things since assuming we finish UCoB in time, we are going to FRU right afterwards and i highly doubt there will be things like this.
I wonder if the profitable part is not exactly translated. I'd be surprised if they actually were profitable just off of the event alone. Maybe merch sales helps with that? I know NA FanFest got ripped this year but EU's was amazing, and the fact you got TWO concerts is really great value for money. The tickets are expensive but I think they're worth it.
God I want more Wuk Lamat. More more more more more 🙂
Saying that clearing an ultimate is a 50/50 on whether or not the did it legit or bought it is probably the most elitist bullshit I have ever heard you spout. Sure, there are some people who bought it, but that percentage is TINY. It is crazy to me that you would say such a thing so casually.
Yoshi pretty much said what my friend said about Garlemald Restoration. In what 6.4 they refused help and we had to convince them to take our help. So even now they wouldn't be fine with the restoration effort. They need time to grow and get their society back together.
As for the ultimate thing, people sell clears so even without cactbot etc people would still buy clears and the "sense of pride and accomplishment" still wouldn't fit.
i'll probably play BLM till i die at this rate lol. I enjoyed PCT for the whimsy and the BONK HAMMER tho. i wonder if some ideas about Mastery points etc could impact how they do balance "too much" (for them to want to do it), because to a certain extent stuff is so static in rotations etc that a mastery point say giving an extra 1% potency to something is like…idk
shrugWF groups will always min max and so will The Balance etc but Mastery points as a vehicle for skill expression with something tlike Hero Talents to giv ea unique flavour to an ability would be niceI guess I'm curious at how much profit comes from Fanfest and what the breakdown would be. Is it the ticket sales, merch sales, something else? Never gone to one so I'm not sure what all they're selling and what's lumped into the ticket cost. As nice as it'd be as a "give back" to customers/fans, I also can't see a company willingly holding an event knowing they're going to lose out on money. But I'm usually only interested in the live letter/content reveal portions anyways so I'll stick to the free streams.
in regards to Ultimate and Cactbot stuff, 14:50 im sorry so you want almost 98% of your fanbase to fail? i call just flat out bs on dev side if that one comment was from him. Its Yoshi saying "we wanted ultimates to be cleared ONLY by 0.1% of players, and balance our whole game around that" how bout the rest of us? if another few micro % of peoplke are able to clear with tool help, then let them, its such a niche that 99% of players will never touch, and should stop being the focus of this game. Mid core content needs love, this whole FFxiv is only about savage/ultimate shyt needs to end.
But.. when will mr. joshii pp understand that ff14 IS a MMO not a visual novel like audiobooks, genshin…
And fck, am I the only one who doesn't give a sht about g̶l̶a̶m̶ skins or how my char looks, which on top of that is not properly implemented/take space in dresser instead of catalog.
Also for the sake of all Gods, give proper rewards to players, like 99% other games do and do patches more often or at least offer something other than.. nw, i'm tired, going to sleep..
21:18 I very much remember the FF11 PVP world championship. Characters were basically copy/pasted on to the FF11 Test server. I also remember a group of NA players that got into trouble because they teleported to HNMs and killed at least one (18 years ago so my memory may be a bit foggy on the matter). The biggest issue with the FFXI PVP tournament wasn't so much the ping difference as it was the play style difference. The JP team went HARDCORE MAX HIT POINT setup for all of their team, while the NA players were trying to complement the job they were playing on. However, an FF11 BLM with 1100+ HP at level 60 (pvp lvl cap iirc) was just INSANE. Honestly, a tournament would be cool, and interesting to see how NA/EU/O players would do with having virtually no latency like JP players do.
I felt character growth from 90-100 in DT was pretty underwhelming. Most of the things you unlock just feel like another button to slap into the rotation. (And then there’s summoner)
On one hand, I don’t use addons in the slightest (outside of auto markers in ucob but that wasn’t of my own volition. I voiced my preference for not using them and people basically didn’t give a shit). On the other, how the hell are you gonna design shit like top and not expect pf to use addons? I get the frustration and seeing people bypass the struggle but if you are gonna make shit that is basically borderline impossible for most of pf to be able to realistically do, you can’t really complain. If you want people to not use that stuff, you gotta design accordingly. Now, this isn’t to say people aren’t gonna use that stuff no matter what but it would probably go a decent way to take that into account.
Niche take but I don't think using cactbot in solo pf for ultimates is cheating at all. In a normal static group, you'd usually have someone making callouts with around 80% accuracy or better. Considering how frustrating it is to fill a pf group and the fact that youll always end up in at least 1 trap party after waiting forever I think using cactbot is justified.
As for other types of add-ons….its 100% cheating, no question. But until those addons are completely banned, it's impossible to stop people from using them and futile to even argue about it. From a player’s perspective, these tools are so accessible that it feels like you’re putting yourself at a disadvantage by not using them, even more so if you value your own time.
At the end of the day, this is just a game we play to pass the time and have fun. Whether someone uses cheats or not doesn’t really change anything as you have full control over what you want to do, so if clearing an ultimate is the pinnacle of your achievements in life and cheaters make you value it less… unfortunately real life is the exact same way.. all you can do is try to have fun in our own way and dont get lost in the sauce that is "legend status". People who clear without them and those who use them are still going to wake up the next day in the same reality. No mmo addon is going to change that.
All I know is that 24 man raids might as well just give us the xp for queuing at this point…..I’ve never seen them melt like this before lol
For me I think no matter what "buff up" is far and away better than "nerf down" like even with a job as strong as picto is I think it's still better to bring other things up that pull the overpowered ones down, the only exception is when it cause issues with the game, like damage overflow or something like that where the game physically can't handle it
I really hate the "don't nerf one job, buff everyone else" line of thinking. It makes sense in a solely PVP game, but in a PVE game that just is gonna make older PVE content get blasted. Not to mention, buffing however many jobs is probably a lot more prone to balance issues than nerfing one.
you can get @LegalMindset he is a US lawyer that works in asia
I don't wear my UCoB weapons to show off. I wear them cause i am damn proud of the multi month journey I went through to get them. I could care less how others perceive my personal achievement
for me, there was no real "emotional catharsis" so far, i dont know if the music choice is different between global an jp release, but at least what i heard on the english side, things felt very rushed after a certain point in the story, and when i expected to hear a sad song, it was a happy, up beat, which to me felt out of place, add to that (and this started i think last expansion?) the trying to make the audio feel like one is there, like if they are in a cave or indoors adding reverb to the dialogue, which just makes it sound like when you are listening to someone with a bad mic (again, could just be how the eng dub side decided to do it, either way, wasnt a fan)
Pretty sure the stat squish last time was because the numbers in Bozja and Eureka were so big. Now that those are squished, there's no need to continue squishing.
Warned ppl when i said it was gonna be op lol
If glamour is the real end game, then adding ultimate adventurer plates make people of a more casual nature want them will open the window unintentionally to people wanting that content even if it isn't legitimate and use 3rd party tools to get to that finish line.
17:00 honestly the clearing of ultimates itself with or without tools has many different audiences. Let me list just a few and what I feel like their mindset is:
Tryhard Player: wants to clear vanilla, no tools, takes pride in clearing, big d energy. Is probabaly a penta veteran and insanely dedicated to minmaxing.
Majority of Players: Want to clear Ult at least once. Struggle for months, more or less use tools or sims to clear. Are happy and proud of the clear. May or may not deny using tools.
Busy Adult Gamer: Is busy with job, family, etc. FF14 is "just a game". No time to sit 3h/5d/week for months to clear some game content, stressing out. Either use any tool possible or just buy a pilot to clear for them. They dont care about prestige in a video game for children. Just want to buy a luxury item (ult weapon) to use as glam for their chars.
Screenshot Glam Player: They dont. They literally just dont raid. You use tools to just modify your w/e weapon to look like any Ultimate weapon you want. Sure others dont see it but you dont care. You do. The screenshot shows it too. So you win. Easy and no cost involved.
Imo all of these and more ways to play are perfectly valid and fine. If it makes you happy trying hard, do it. If you need help, ask for it. If you just see this is a time > money, then buy your way through. You can't expect everyone to dedicate more work hours into ults than into actual work and those capable of doing so (jobless or younger kids with free time) neither have the money nor would feel cool buying a clear.
This is why this debate about using or not using tools is so wishy washy. Cuz if you forbid any use, the only ones left that gain anything are the Tryhards. Would that really be a good thing? Would it be worth it dedicating years to make ultimates for less than 1% of player? Probably not. I'd rather have more people clear than just 1% of player that then argue "Oh, you just cleared TOP in Dawntrail? It wasn't even cleared "on patch". It is soooo easyyy." Yeah nah. I'm good. Dont need to stroke egos.
And regarding tools used for World First races. How exactly do we track how far someone got? How many %? Even those who do not stream it? What's that? fflogs you say? How exactly does fflogs track progress… ? Yeah thats right. Via a 3rd party tool.
So either forbid that too or just shhhhhhut it and enjoy the game YOUR way and stop telling others how they should or shouldnt enjoy it.
BLM is worthtless and picking it is trolling currently. That's their amazing balance and buffing.
How the hell they want to make CC Championship etc if we can't even play AS TEAMS in this mode, like wtf xDDDDDDD
