  1. Tbh as a crafter myself, Things sold just fine hell one person made over a billion gil from selling the new sets. I enjoy having a whole week to craft for my friends and not have to stress about melds and food and all these other things I really don't wanna worry about. The market will be fine if anything it will be much more reasonably priced earlier on. Advice to crafters out there you want things to stay at good prices don't undercut by 100k or more. Don't try to fight the bots you won't win and your doing more harm than good. Overall this delay has been great for me and my friends to as a casual group actually participate in week 1.

  2. Delaying savage by one week has pretty much been a positive reaction from everyone I know. This allows players to enjoy the story and get prepped for the raids without having to panic rush everything in one day before raid which takes countless hours with the gathering and crafting. I’m looking forward to the criterion dungeons. More mounts is always a good thing and I’m a huge story addict for the variant dungeons

  3. The next decade surely will have a new FF Online game. The FF14 engine itself is over 10 years old and there are a lot things you can't do with it compared to anything developed in the last 5 years.

Zero's popularity is kind of inevitable in the West I think. Recently we've had a lot of female protagonists in other games and movies, including tomboys and warrior women. Characters like Vi from Arcane, Wonder Woman and Ellie from Last of Us. I'm really glad for this- even the more recent Lara Croft has a tougher look, compared to the pure fan service she was in her first iteration.

  4. Despite all my criticism of current job designs direction, I'm first to admit they've been doing great miscellaneous updates and changes since the beginning of EW, little things that end up contributing to me still playing.

  5. The 1 week delay was great for me, especially since I got heavy into crafting and it made the gathering and crafting much cheaper and relaxed, like I felt like I could play and do my crafting and I wouldn't fall behind and the prices didn't take a hit really from what I could tell, it was really consistent, I made a lot of gil.
I am shocked he thought Zero would be unpopular, she's very strong and Emet and Zenos were both popular(Zenos by the end at least being so over the top) and they were also evil, Zero's awesome.

  6. A lot of the talk about the delay has been about hardcore raiders, but… Even if you're not a hardcore raider, but are still interested in savage, the week one delay is really positive. Because the longer you take to get to savages, the less people you find to raid with. And one week really makes a difference there: even a lot of casual raiders were able to beat the first two or three fights of the tier week one. Without the delay, the amount of people available to prog is much smaller during week 2 or after.

  7. I don't even actively do Savage raiding but I can see the appeal. Not all raiders care about story, but that doesn't mean none of them do, and this gives them a chance to enjoy the, what is essentially, the main focus of the game. And if they don't.. well what's a week? 😛

  8. To be honest, the delay of savage by 1 week and NOT the crafted gear is what made me enjoy the delay more than anything else. As a raider I felt like I finally had a reason to have my crafters maxed out. When I'm playing the game I simply don't get a chance to use those for my main job, even though I enjoy crafting. The story is really nice too, but if they delay crafted as well as savage 1 week, it feels a little bit less purposeful to me. Of course I feel a little bad for the people who make gil off of me and others because of that, but realistically there is not a lot that you need gil for in FFXIV. Most gil dumps are one-time only, it isn't like you'll ever need a billion gil for one patch.
So, thinking about myself and with my own interests at heart rather than others, I would rather they don't decide to adjust crafted gear.

  9. I really hope they don't push crafted gear back a week to match savage. I can only speak about how things were on my data center being Aether but crafted gear seemed to sell very well AND held its price for a much longer time than in previous tiers. I feel like what happened here is that the money that certain crafters would get from direct sales was WAY DOWN but by and large the market board selling prices held stronger. I just liked that getting gear for this tier was much less stressful than it is on a normal day and date release of everything at once as we could even take the time to craft our own gear if we so chose and I made a very large amount of money from crafting materials because the prices held up for a longer period of time.

  10. I only have one issue with island sanctuary after automating feeding and gardening with the mammets there is no button to collect from all the plots and animals (you have to click each individual pet and plot on a list) and the placement of the collect buttong is right next to the release animal button and that is a little MonkaS.

  11. It really excites me that theyre doubling down, heck tripling down, on appealing to new generations of players. I have a feeling this game is going to be around for a long time and that makes me very happy.

Also, it cant be overstated how excited i am for the variant and criterion dungeons. I have a feeling im gonna spend a LOT of my time in them

  12. The funny thing is, crafted gear sold great. Based on my own experience with the markets, I imagine some of the issue with low numbers of crafted items was because of the increased difficulty and meld requirements, especially compared to 6.0. I think a lot of folks hadn't heavily melded in advance, and got scared off by the requirements.

  13. I've just been handling my island fairly casually. I binged a bit the first couple days, then just let the timers work themselves as I gained experience. Even though I can automate the whole process, I don't plan on doing any such thing – not until I've gotten all the rewards, and I still like checking in manually. I'd like to see new structures and styles of structure going forward, and definitely a beech chair.

As for the Savage content, I have dipped my toes in, but I will probably always be a gray parse. As long as I stay alive and don't hinder my comrades, I think I'm good lol. Filthy casual, eh?

  14. One week delay may not seem like much, but is like INFINITE time to enjoy the patch before jumping into the savage grinder. Everyone I know loves it. I really hope they never go back to the way it was.

  15. "Zero was well received in the West," I mean as an average yuri enjoyer. Those Zero-Y'Shtola fan art definitely helped me like the already badass and cool Zero. Plus all the cool casual clothing Zero would wear. Safe to say, I will straight up riot if anything causes Zero to 1. Become an enemy or 2. Die.

  16. I guess crafters felt like they missed out on the bidding wars? Because the crafted gear is better than the normal raid gear, so it's not like the gear was outclassed. Personally, I'm not spending 1 mil+ per piece regardless of when it's out. I just got the gear off the MB this tier because it was reasonably priced. But if they delay the crafted gear, I'll just have to level my own crafters this time to avoid the cost.

  17. As a crafter, do other crafters truly believe the bulk of the sales for the highest ilvl gear is exclusively Savage raiders? Or that one more week for people to "gear up" for Savage is enough to completely collapse the crafting economy with the latest gear? Clearly, just like IRL, you don't need to be smart to know how to make bank. Actually, you know what, keep thinking that. Those guys are TOTALLY RIGHT. I'm an idiot. Please keep not bothering to craft the latest gear. It's totally not worth it. Just buy it if you need it. Only idiots like me craft these things thinking there's a lot of gil to be made. Don't be like me! You're totally smarter than that!

  18. my big two points in here:

1: it'll take all of four days before reddit, forums, twitter, and twitch are all ablaze with bitching and moaning over "there isn't enough in criterion/variant dungeons!!!! ugh there's NOTHING to DO"

2: his reaction to Zero's reception has me hopeful for her holding a role moving forward. initially i assumed she'd just be a 6.x character then take a backseat. i know krile is the star of 7.0 but i really hope Zero sticks around, at least more than gaia

i feel for the guy though. he's got western players bitching about island sanctuary not having enough and JP players saying there's too much. pains of success. lmao

  19. I wish the Island Sanctuary had enough place for one of every animal + every Rare since I really like to see for example the white sheep and black sheep usually being close to each other and now I want every animal to have a companion. ^^

  20. If Yoshi-P wants to appeal to the new generation of players to the genre, then he has to make the early game experience very captivating in terms of gameplay – Which I believe to be a difficult challenge to tackle for an mmorpg game.

But since he mentioned he wanted to go in that direction then I can't wait to see what Yoshi-P and his team come up with in terms of new innovations…Honestly I'm excited if they manage to solve one of the biggest issues in mmorpgs aka boring early gameloop.

The reason why I believe that this would be the biggest hurdle in luring in the new generations is based on what I see & hear…Basically how the new generations have shorter attention spans and are leaning into quick bite-sized content such as tiktok.
