  1. The Garlemald Storyline is just depressing. An entire country so indoctrinated that they rather choose to die than get help from "barbarians with magic". The 2 Sisters at the beginning and Quintus are just 2 examples, there are probably even more who would rather die after their empire has fallen. And the music in the area, this song on the radio….I always had this oppressive feeling while questing there

  2. Endwalker doesn't pull its punches! This part was both a shock and also made sense for the character, but yeah, you said it, it's just despair everywhere. But those little pockets of hope and encouragement with Alphi/Alisaie are so great.

  3. Personally, I found this portion of Endwalker to be exquisite. The pacing wasn't half bad. The story telling was "showing you" instead of "telling you", which I always appreciate in MMO's. But, what really stood out was the music (and how it's delivered). It isn't just background noise. It's part of the storytelling (both in historical references, mood, and the way it's delivered by the radio). Nothing is wasted or taken for granted in these scenes. With so many known characters in one place MMO's have a tendency to try and fit them all into the main story. Not this time. They're there, but only used when absolutely key to what needs to be brought across to the player.

  4. 25:43 Finding stuff is an adventurer's bread and butter.

31:10 That is the face of a man who has received orders he does not like.

36:30 No wonder he reacted so harshly earlier when we talked of a tempering cure. Even if it was true it was too late for his family.

43:50 Ali finding her own reason to fight, and not simply doing it for her grandfather's sake, was a bit thing for her since ARR.

47:45 Mr. Senna. I loved that.

51:29 That face. That was all our faces.

52:49 I think when he said Your Radiance he was referring to Solus. Quintis was OG and had been around since the beginning of the empire. Solus would've been the emperor he fought by.

56:00 To give some idea of how bad things are Jullus is only a Pyr. Remember back in ARR as were munching our way up to Gaius starting with old Doubleshields? Even he was higher ranked than Jullus. Picture a first sergeant or something being second in command to a general cause everyone else is dead. And now the general is dead too.

  5. This was the first real slap from Endwalker. I'm super excited to see your next upload post 7.0 launch in just a couple days. The next few segments just drag you in further and further lol And, actually, one particular upcoming sequence left a LOT of us with an extremely bad feeling of ick we still can't get rid of. It was so well done and invasive that it really felt like a true betrayal of our immersive senses. You'll see what I mean 😉
