  1. Bullshit. They always say the right things, what everyone wants to hear. Before every patch, before every expansion, they talk about all the cool ideas that – in reality – are butchered, castrated, watered-down. For years whatever they implement is about 10% of what they initially promised.

  2. Hmmm I suspect Anduin was supposed to be the end boss of 9.2 and there was supposed to be a 9.3 so they are trying cobble together the jailer as the last boss and have it kind of make sense, well as much sense as wow can make let's be honest, writing this bad the bar is low.

  3. Its not the first time they have used a mount in a raid. You used one in dragon spine or what ever the final raid was their in cata…. 9.2 will honestly be just as boring and bland, also rushed like the rest of the expansion. Their clearly taking, or trying to take, pages out of FF’s book, also Neir with the “Automa”. This will be akin to the jungle they added back in WOD was it? I honestly forget lol. But yea, time gated content with a daily grind to keep “on top” or you eill have FOMO.

  4. Yoshi-P did actually gate the last wing of the ShB 8 man. In this case, you had to finish 5.3 before you could continue due to how the raid story was going. Also, if we have to talk about Blizz copying stuff off it FFXIV, the best way to describe it then copying what to fill in, but not realizing they don't have the same questions/problems to answer, meaning they still get it wrong

  6. The problem is: The raid isn't gated to any quests, so… with no quests or anything mandatory which present the story, what is being achieved?
I'm not seeing how this is different than a normal WoW raid rollout, except there's randomly a wait. Maybe I missed some info where they're actually putting some quest and story time in there? Or is it just gonna be you pick up a quest after Anduin, a quest NOT needed for the 2nd half, but by then introducing this delay it kind of makes week 1 people stop and do it before the 2nd half when it would elsewise be skipped?

  7. "If the FF 14 team did this, and they had good narrative reason to do it-" Full Stop right there.
You might be right. In fact, I think you most certainly are. But this ISN'T the FF Team, it's the Blizzard Clownshow. The Blizzard "Conduit energy is a good Idea" Clownshow. The Blizzard "Shards of domination are basically Tiersets" Clownshow! Why are you still advocating for Blizzard when they do nothing but act in bad faith?
Seriously, where is that trust in them coming from? We at least have to give Blizzard a chance? They've had their chance. Dozens of chances in fact. They don't deserve another one. Not upfront, not anymore. They need to show what they did BEFORE they get showered in praise.
All they said was there will be a break between bosses and you immediately hallucinate some hairbrained story about Blizzard suddenly, and for the first time in almost 2 decades, writing a good and cohesive story on par with FF14?
The last time their writing was remotely close to that was with WC3 Frozen Throne. Any Storyline they ever wrote for wow, when compared to any other game, was at best serviceable. But sure, NOW they'll do it.

  8. Not buying it!
WoWs story is broken and half azzed because they took there core concept from Warhammer.
They took the MMO model from Everquest and Ultima Online. Even when blizzard cared for Wow, it was nothing original. The story was an after thought. The idea was to create a place for the community. We all know how much the dev's and the toxic psychopathic number crunchers that still play Wow care about the community.
The dev's who might have given a shit are all gone. The Players who might have given a shit are all gone! The game that once was, Its gone!
You guys are holding onto the arm of a phantom cow whos long been milked, kicked, cut up, sold, eaten, shat out, repackaged, re eaten, recycled, and finally turned into fire lighters. The community if so toxic because they cannot accept Wow is dead and they helped blizzard kill it.

  9. Timegatimg I believe is more of a phrase used by console people who think a game from beginning to end takes only a month and they seem to forget WOW is 2 years long…. blizzard on the other hand seems to forget to have content/entertainment that will cover that time frame..

  10. If they absolutely nail the narrative flow of the raid, tell a decent story, and don't have any bullshit sucker mechanics, I'll give them a big thumbs up!… And then log into a game that has shown respect for my time from day one.

  11. I'm not giving blizzard a chance woth this story raid progression, the reason is simple. The story doesn't matter in wow, it's not told IN wow and on top of that it's subjectively bad with a lot of objective faults.
No one wants to wait for a wow raid because muh story. The story is shit, so don't try to make people go through it

  12. This is not what we've been asking for at all.
They need to make me respect the story before they claim it as an excuse for timegating. As it stands no one respects the wow story becayse it's both bad and mishandled in game

  13. Dear god, I hope they do not learn from ffxiv… That game is garbage. Pls lets hope they dont make us go thru 20000 phased load screens teleporting around nonstop to stones with GCD's longer then george floyd's dick.. Lets just hope they remove their head from their asses revert the already fucked GCD's compared to what was pre MoP gcd times, and create some non trash content thats not time gated.

  14. I just don't see what ONE week buys them story wise, how is that more organic or good story telling when you literally have to clear through Anduin again on week 2 to continue the story within the same raid? To me its anything but natural and is only being done for the sake of the mythic race. Bell and Matt are on a lot of copium here just assuming this is a positive thing out of the gate instead of a wait and see approach. I think this is a patched together raid with 9.2 being Anduin as the final boss and some later raid, 9.3 probably, being the Jailer but now they're having to frankenstein them together. Plus Bell and Matt's overly optimistic take would be defensible if the story wasn't complete garbage, now its just timegated garbage I'm not interested in.

  15. I refuse to give them the benefit of the doubt here, they've lost that privilege so I'm on the negative side and think its just timegating for the sake of the mythic race. If the story was the least bit interesting I maybe could take a wait and see approach but the story's garbage AND the company's lost my trust so I'm on the opposite side of the copium that Bell and Matt are ingesting here.

  16. ff14 messed up 1.0. it took them years to fix and redeem themselves.
can't speak for others, but if blizz want my trust back, there is no other way except ACTION.
and no, a few nice gestures of goodwill is NOT enough. they have to do it for years.

  17. Blizz: Releases bad expansion
Players: Wow Blizz sucks they don’t listen to us quits game
Blizz: Releases patch that “fixes” the game
Players: Well this is a step in the right direction let’s give them a chance buys sub buys new mount

Rinse and repeat, Blizz is never going to change until there is a mass migration to another game or a mass unsub movement. The fact that people keep forgiving and forgetting is ridiculous, I don’t want WoW to fail, but they seriously need a wake up call and so do their addicted players smh.

  18. This isnt really comparable to FFXIV, FF has never said "oh we have some bosses we're just not letting you fight them til next week" FF raids release the full 4 bosses of the tier in normal then savage full 4 1 week later, I do not think it would go down well if Square was like we're giving you 3 normal bosses and the 4th one when savage releases. I dont think people would be mega upset but they would definitely say its dumb and makes no sense.

  19. "wow learning less-" just stop. When will the abuse stop. Dont fall for blizzards "I promise ill get better" bullshit again. Theyre not going to get better. This is a literal abusive relationship. Please drop the copium. Wow wont get better.

  20. "we have to atleast give blizzard a chance" No the fuck we do not. Stop taking your copium. We "Give blizzard a chance" EVERY FUCKING EXPANSION. IT DOESNT STOP. YOURE BEING ABUSED BY A COMPANY. FOR YOUR MONEY

  21. I don't know. I just hear a lot of COPIUM and excuses being made for the things players hate just by saying "if the story allows it". If time gating wasn't used so much, then having it for the sake of story every once in a while, ok whatever. But people have been complaining and hating the time gating in WoW for a long time. How about not creating a story that uses time gating in a time where players are over it. Right now this is literally "just more time gating" because the players just got past time gating just before this one. You guys are trying to justify this way too much. Like you guys are trying to be positive just for sake of being positive and ignoring the just recent horrible time gating already…. they should have at least waited a while before trying this BS and using the story as an excuse. Maybe it would work a couple of years after the last time gating system, which literally just happened…

To put it into perspective. What do you think is more likely the case? That Blizzard wrote the story and thought "this new system would be so cool and with the story it works so well!" Or "we have very little content until the next Expansion release so we need a new time gating system, so let's write the story around that system so we can justify it!". Really just think about it. Think of what they have done in the past and just recently with releasing store items in the wake of yet another huge scandal. Doesn't take much brains to see why a time gating system would be added, and it's not because they think it will improve the game…

  22. I feel like this could work for WoW, if people were invested in the narrative. Unfortunately I think the majority of the players aren't invested in what feels to be a slapped together storyline.

  23. Oh, now they're learning? Now, when they're no longer outright top dogs. But when we were asking for changes many many years ago, it was met with sarcastic, condescending and downright snide answers. But NOW they're learning. Oh joy!

  24. "At least give Blizz a chance." – bruh, how many you gonna give them!? Also – Blizz don't have a good history of producing good (tolerable) content/narrative/story to deserve any time gating.
