Why you shouldn't Heal in FFXIV Endwalker

Healing in FFXIV Endwalker has become quite controversial with many finding this style of healing in FF14 to be quite boring. As a White Mage player, I can wholeheartedly attest to that.

  1. Now that's a spicy title. I actually think healing in Endwalker is…. good. The newest extremes were a lot of fun, with Endsinger and Barbariccia being some of the best; even Mommy Ex was really fun! Not to mention the p5-p8 savage tier being really fantastic for healing. Personally, I don't want them to add more DPS to healers, I want them to add more raid wides, bleeds, and tank busters like what we see in p5s-p8s that give us SOMETHING to actually HEAL (edit: it would also be cool to see more mechs where we need to use esuna!). I don't think turning healers into DPS is the answer.. though a lot of people seem to feel that it is =P.

Normal modes are VERY boring though, and we have the predicament where FFXIV is essentially made for casual players, so we probably wont see much good changes to normal mechanics to make healing even slightly harder/more interesting. I feel like for healer to be fun for people, they really have to do endgame stuff like extreme, savage, and ultimate. Otherwise yeah, snoozefest.

  2. I play white mage as a non-healer. I'm a red mage main, and WHM is incredibly easy to pick up. I think if I were going to invest time into being a healer main though, white mage would be my last choice. I like it because it's easy to pick up without a lot of research into optimizing it. But astro and sch, the healers I'd pick if I were to main it, are a lot busier and more involved.

  3. I know alot of people who love healer and wouldnt change for anything. I really dont get what your video is about, it seems very random and i couldnt relate to anything but the 11111 rotation part.

  4. The bad part is that healing could, very easily, be good. But they refuse to do that because then they'd have to give jobs depth and a skill floor above zero. They couldn't possibly ask people to use a braincell.
