  1. i hated how players were obsesive with dmg numbers in Wow and would always ride your ass about it even during simple random dungeon run , like bruh wtf? can you piss off and just let me play the game? god just reminding me that makes my blood boil

  2. TRUE and REAL. I will counter though that most synced content is of a particular skill level which is easy enough to clear without seeing all the major mechanics, but also difficult enough to warrant pushing maximum damage output in order to skip those mechanics. There have been more than a few times that my parties have been utterly saved from mechanics we were unprepared for by focusing on damage. Daladria and most of the end game raids come to mind.

  3. Yeah its becoming dumb kinda like wow at the top end of raiding. That mindset comes from wow for sure.but if you look there are players around willing to teach the new raiders like my self

  4. Parsing particularly in FF14 is stupid only because in most fights trying to get a high parse on damage instead of doing mechanics generally involves a wipe. Our content is 8 man instead of 20 so we have more player responsibility. You can optimize a bit you can do your rotation better, which most people who even have dps meters in FF seem to use it for – folks like Xeno and Arthars have already talked about how the parser mentality doesn't really work with this game. There's a reason why there aren't many dps checks in this game. If high DPS would help skip a mechanic or help clear a DPS check then yes I'd care more about it but the game isn't designed that way it's fine tuned for x mechanic to hit at y%

  5. If they were competing on an unofficial speedrunning leaderboard, it would make sense why they would want to maximize every drop of DPS, but even for the highest end Content, knowing the fight is the most important thing that’s why people can have a legend title and be ass somewhere else because each high end fight is its own puzzle, rather than a giant DPS test.

  6. Parse just also falls in line with X ((ninja)) job is too risky to take the tier. Very much sour still with that comment but i think I did dodge a bullet by not being in that static. Still f that mentality.

  7. I've legitimately come across people who insist the game is "unplayable " without parsing, and I've been too polite to tell them that if they are incapable of playing without a useless add-on, then you probably just suck.

  8. Nothing makes die in laughter more than trying to join a midcore static for savage and I'm told to kick rocks because they pulled my logs and I don't have Oranges and Pinks. Like…brother… I raid in PF as a HEALER. I'm an amazing team player with a great mental and a desire to learn, help, and improve. Although, apparently, all that falls second to how many times I am willing to sack my teammates for glare casts though…my bad I guess. Then I have to turn around and hear about how healers are "greedy" and don't heal. Like…what do you want from us? If we heal, you gatekeep us from savage because our parses are too low, but if we do damage, you grill us for being incompetent. Then these same people cry that there is a healer shortage. Well, no shit lol.
