  1. I want necromancy so bad tho… just so I can play the light necromancer who wants to help lost souls find their way back to the aetherial sea by helping them complete their wants and needs.

  2. Necromancy is in the game! It is used by NPC's unfortunately only! I would so love for Yoshi P to break from the mold of Final Fantasy, like he said he would, if any new jobs came into the game! There are tons of jobs I know people want like Geomancer, Time, Mage, Chemist, Green Mage, just to name a few!!!

  3. Ah, yes.. a shoehorn. Haven't you ever heard of Occam's Shoehorn: only the most convoluted and contrived lethal weapon is the Correct Shoehorn! Chekov's Shoehorn? Only the most heinous of weapons, The Shoehorn must be mentioned, yet never used… for it is deadly even to the writer! The zombie, in the cave, with the shoehorn what did the good Scribe in!

    Ladies, Honored Theys and Gents….
    THE SHOEHORN.

Bet you're wanting that Necromancer job now, huh?
(Requiescat in Party Finder, dear Scribe) 🙂

  4. I figure the only way Necromancy could work as a player job would be to have "willing" spirits help you. As in, instead of having spirits and undead forcibly put under your control, it would instead be entreating willing spirits of the dead to act on your behalf.

I had already thought up a Necromancer as a magic DPS job where the most effective spells you use are proximity based on the caster; however, when you would use your summoned spirits, they instead become the source of your spell effects. Think of it as a variation on the Closed Position from the Dancer, except that instead of tagging another player, your summoned spirits become origin points for your spells.

I would guess that you'd have at least one or 2 of these as default spirits that manifest when combat starts and dissipates afterwards and some abilities would allow you to summon more of them or different kinds (guessing that would be the Necromancy gauge's use). I'd assume the spirits themselves wouldn't have attacks but really only act as beacons for your spells to activate.

And it wouldn't be the first time we use a thematically 'evil' or 'dark' power for good use : the Dark Knight and Reaper are both examples of that, especially since Reapers actually have a beneficial relationship / covenant with their host.

  5. There's my idea for Necromancer:
-Ranged Caster Tank (i'm not joking)
-Summons zombies that generates enmity and can be controlled like the scholar's fairy. (this can be balanced by spiliting your max HP by each zombie summoned or something…)
    -Can revive.
-Can put a debuff on an ennemy that turns them into undead when they die, becoming controlable for a short period of time before they disappear.
-Putting it on a player does the same thing, they turn into undead for the same short period of time before actually dying. They also get a significant damage boost that they need to use as much as possible before the end of the duration. (only 1 or 2 player at a time, or a 2 stack debuff with a long cooldown for each stacks, otherwise it would be op)

    What's your ideas?

  6. As a roleplaying Succubus playing Dark Knight, Reaper and Blackmage I would totally, not to mention selflessly and humbly put aside my purest morality and best of intentions just to become Necromancer so you don't have to! 🦇 I'll protect your delicious precious soul until the very end, sooner- rather than later, so you can be turned into a very, very cute toy! You'd make for such an adorable Wind-up Chimera! All of you! 🤭
