  2. It could've worked as a story driven game, the problem is that they for some reason decided that it should be driven by stories primarily not in the game, but in books, so if you don't read the books then the story is going to make so little sense because you're getting like a highlights trailer of it through cutscenes. They could've added a sort of MSQ system, they already design the quests like breadcrumbs, could easily tie a main story questline to that, but nah, with their billions of dollars they don't have time to design something like that because they are too busy making nonsense systems that are going to be removed by the end of the expansion. Utter incompetent management.

WoW has a real problem with gimmicky systems, and too many of them, and so often the gimmick is tied to the overall story of an expansion, and because the story of an expansion doesn't carry over then all the gimmicks are dead by the next expansion, so they do this to themselves and how they can't see that is beyond me.

  3. Big agree, esepcially about the CLass Order Halls. Legion was my dream expansion in terms of the overall setting and plot, for my character; (demo lock) and the order hall was also a headcanon i had made up for him already and then to see if fulfilled as the games plot, I loved it so much……..and then…..they just threw it all in the trash. no resolution at all to the order halls. Are my warlock companions just hanging out in Telogrus Rift since Legion?! Doing nothing? We were space faring super heroes in Legion, and then just threw all that away and became nameless grunts in BfA and i am still bitter haha. Also, i wish we kept the Artifact weapons. Throw out the AP, keep the weapons and their stories. One of my fave pieces of content was going out adn geting the other weapons as you levelled in Legion. It gave me a reason to play other classes and specs. Thrown in the trash. I could go on and on but ill stop there haha

  4. I own FF14. SQEX ID and password saved on login screen. Need subscription. Dont remember password to log into mog station. Password reset. Received email says no SQEX account registered to that email. Whatever, created new account. Game copy that is already purchased is linked to first inaccessible account, unusable on second account on same console. Not even someone I'm able to call to help me. Have sent emails and have gotten zero replies. I just want my money back at this point, total rip off owning a game you cant play.

  5. I quit playing WoW roughly two weeks ago because it just seemed like one big empty world unless you did Group Finder/LFR. Friends haven't played for years, even the newest content is stale, and despite the assurance that Shadowlands would be Alt-Friendly™ it most definitely is not. I have seven characters at max level+renown in WoW, and while I recognize that's a sign that I spent a lot of time playing and clearly enjoyed the game – it also means the burnout has hit hard, and I'm not sure when I'll be back. I started FF14 last week and it's fun enough. Slow, tedious, and a bit … idk … dry(?), but I'm enjoying a new experience and hope that – like you and others have said – it will only get better.

  6. Shadowlands made me finally uninstall WOW. It is the worst leveling experience I ever had in WOW. It was never so boring, so uninspired and so lazy written. I made it to level 56 and had enough. I logged off in the middle of nowhere and never logged in again. For many months I did not play anything else then Cyberpunk. Now I am trying FFxiv again and finally made it through the first rough hours and begin to really like it.

  7. The fundamental issue I see with blizzard trying to tell an interesting story is twofold. One thing is a good story should have a satisfying conclusion, inherently wow cannot do because of the faction war at the heart of the game. Neither side can win without pissing off at least half of your players. Secondly they need to have progressively higher stakes which is tough now that we have killed elder gods and titans. So they keep telling the same story they told in Warcraft 3 over and over. Faction war is interrupted by big bad who we have to band together to beat, we go around gathering warriors and McGuffins before taking fight to big bad. In a "shocking twist" we find out there is a traitor corrupted by something; often magic. We save/kill the poor SOB then we move on to killing the big bad who of course hints at a bigger bad to come. Any long form story telling will suffer from these two issues, its like trying to run a D&D game for 18 years. But wow's faction war being central to its identity makes new and interesting stories difficult to tell.

  9. One interesting thing is their sub treatment. Blizzard really, really let's you know that your sub is running out and that you need to resub. Meanwhile, SE let's you know when you have upcoming payments so you're aware that charges are going through. That may be a regulatory thing, but it's still nice.

  10. I played WoW for years also, but I finally realized that it just wasn't fun anymore. I realized that if I am going to play something, i want to have fun my way. I am trying black desert right now, but I do not like the forced pvp it has. I am ready to finally try ff14, so thank you very much for this honest information 😉 Have a great night 🙂

  11. Too bad FF14 is the same shit as retail in the end except with weeb stuff to do and see

I played 3000 hours of ff14 and raided since stormblood

It was refreshing until it became evident that it's just a weeb version of retail with story if you care for it

Ff14 copied the theme park mmo during WoW Mists

Maybe if they copied TBC it would be good enough

  12. My wish, balance the bloody classes and specs properly, get rid of this borrowed power shit so that regardless of class and spec i can play end game content at all levels.
