I've seen people criticize the game, and I guess I haven't felt the lack of content because I've been going through my Steam back catalogue while finishing up older expansion content like the relic weapons. (Bozja and Eureka was something I didn't get to until finishing Endwalker MSQ cause I took my time to enjoy the story)
FFXIV has always been a tent pole kind of game for me to come back to and enjoy. Something to fall back to when nothing else has my interest. I believe the devs have said they plan on another ten years of support through expansions, and content so that has been my attitude towards it. Its a game w/ a long tail that I don't feel rushed to complete in two days like the rest of the video game industry is heading with its Always Online multiplayer games (Looking at Destiny 2, Fortnite, and so many other games with battlepasses, seasonal content, time gating, FOMO, etc.)
Its just a game I play when I want to play, and when there is nothing of interest I go run through other series w/o feeling pressured to play FFXIV for the sake of playing the game.
I'm fine with people having a negative critique about EW.
That being said in regards to your last video. . . No tank rotations on my healers. I don't care how "bored" you get. If the content in front of you isn't thrilling enough for you that's your problem.
If practically speaking a DPS rotation would result in me as a Healer giving the same level of DPS output as has always been the case in FF it's pointless, it be a placebo effect to make you feel like you were doing something when you were doing nothing. Like handing a younger sibling an unplugged controller while you play the game "I'm contributing"
Only an infallible player could say that healing isn't engaging for them and you're not at that level. Nobody is. You seriously mean to tell me you're sitting around doing nothing in savages and ultimates? nothing requires your full attention? You or the people you play with never make a mistake? What group are you playing with cuz I need to get myself in that group. lmao
Bruh its all good, love your stuff
it's incredibly frustrating how defensive the xiv community gets at the slightest criticism, i think most people don't like much of this expansion has just consistent of sitting afk in limsa waiting for the next patch to drop
Thank god someone finally said it I didn't care for Endwalker either tho for what did it was the Story ironically considering it's the biggest selling point. It's on par with Game of Thrones final season. I love the content tho and the glamour . I agree with the 2 minute window being a big issue and the pvp tho interesting at first is as wide and deep as a puddle. I hope whatever comes next returns us to the roots
Yeah, quite agree. Even though Endwalker was really really lame in almost every aspect, XIV as a whole is still a good game. I won't abandon ship only because they didn't delivered their A game once.
Never play wow, character are ugly. I'm a huge simp for FFXIV too, but I won't deny that this expansion kinda mid and those Yoship's boot licker be like "YeAh hE SaId YoU DoN't hAve tO StaY Sub" make me wanna clap em cheeks everytime. xD
There is a lot of good things about this game, but people tend to only hook onto the bad things because they want those bad things eliminated from the game rather than talking about the good things as much, since it also doesn't get that much traction. But it's always nice to hear you talk about both, it's unfortunate that even through the goods there is a couple of negatives, but that is what happens when you as a human create something, there is always going to be a couple of flaws, or things that only a few people see that many others don't, but always a good video with nice points Azu, FemRa should be good enough reason to say why you like this game!
I wonder if the 'go back to WoW' comments were because you suggested an 'alternative to gear' for farming content. Kinda set off alarm bells in my head because it reminded me of various 'borrowed power' systems that WoW added in recent expansions which punished you for not keeping up. Did you go on holiday for a week or two? Well now people aren't going to want you in their groups because you missed out on all that artefact/azerite/anima power.
It's still a silly comment to make, though, especially since WoW no longer really has that as a feature. But maybe those people thought the same thing as I did!
god the playerbase of this game are way too sensitive.. Your last video was 100% accurate about this current expansion.
No, be Viera!
Kekw dont only hear the negatives in the comments we love you
As a 1.5 year player, my biggest gripe island sanctuary. It’s great, but it’s lonely. I wanted some good old social grinding like eureka. I know that those still exist but I guess I like partaking in what everyone is doing. And I don’t have the time or skill to do savage raiding. And I wanted variant/criterion to be better and more in depth. But it’s my favorite game ever, so I don’t feel the need to move on. I just want to feel the love and community excitement I did during the Endwalker launch.
you can still go back to wow tho.
lets play together uwu
👉👈
To be fair, aura women are a great reason. Nearly as good as miqo ladies! 😉
Scales, horns, and tails.
Bruh you got me at female Au Ra.
Azu is a cutie, I have 3 femra myself and If femra were to be the only positive that's good enough for me. xD
(Even tho i have 2 lalas and 3 femqote)
I just fear people focusing on negatives especially content creators because of their influences would kill the game over time
The fact that "Go back to WoW" is so common in this fanbase is why I will never take them seriously when they claim to not be toxic.
"Oh, if you think that's bad then you haven't expirienced this other bad thing!" Okay, that doesn't suddenly make you any less of a shit head though.
Just because you don't like a few things in the game doesn't mean you hate the game. Like you said, there is just so much to do. The game is so dense. You can put in 1000's of hours and still have things to do. What other MMO can say that? The roulette system in this game is genius to me. It keeps all of the old content relevant. All of it. That's just insane.
most of the game improvements are result of the community feedback/critics tho
No need to justify and give in for them. That's a big problem in FFXIV community and hence the GCBTW term was born.
0:52 To be fair, you do have the cutest FFXIV character in existence.
0:58 — Perfectly legid reason. Class dismissed XD XD XD
Always weird that people throw this "go back to WoW" at you whenever you critizise something about FF14… Though I didnt agree with half your points from the other video (like healing is supposedly too easy (my static healers will disagree), and I also dont see that all the jobs of the same role are played the same – I still think, these are problems that only a micro minority has), its frustrating pointing out flaws only to be silenced over nothing. Much as I love this game and believe this community to be the best period, sometimes people around here behave like f***ing snowflakes -.-
As for WoW, I played it for 14 years and I can tell you: no, thank you. Whereas FF14 goes from strength to strength, with the occasional hickup (but even those are up for debate), WoW is swinging from one extreme to the next: its either awesome and the best game ever, or below trash-levels and belongs in the gutter. There was a reason we had so many WoW refugess in 2021. Also, many of those players have stayed and we should be glad for that – not condamn their opinion.
Honestly, female Au Ra are the best part of XIV. Hands down.
People often bond over stuff they dislike/like, so nothing wrong with being negative/positive if that's your niche^^ I've only watched two(now three) videos of yours and I didn't notice a lot of negativity, just your honest opinions.^^ having variation is a nice middle ground, but as someone who loves Kingdom hearts, but also complains about it's flaws, "if you love them, you'll be honest about their issues."
As someone who came from xiv's predecessor xi, there are a lot of stuff I don't like in xiv, but also a lot that I appreciate. And xi will still be there if I miss the old days. If I want to play with a ton of spells and abilities, the game will still be there. Xiv is like a fun dessert, fast food that can be enjoyed without worry ^^
As someone who enjoyed ARR and are having trouble getting through the patches of endwalker, I feel solidarity with you.^^
ah yes typical gaslit xiv community, happy go lucky community in the game that never says anything non positive then go into twitch/ youtube and shit on people for not having same opinion. I would agree with the replayable content for the most part, unless… you did it when it was current then barely anything replayable was addes since shadowbringers and everything was one and done kinda stuff, besides new DD I guess.
Imma be honest, besides healers slowly getting shafted (I mean, new raids without healers? My WHM heart cries) and lack of build variety which disappears when you realize that realistically in other MMO there would be like 3-9 builds per class with character being class-bound where here we pick between 19 or20 combat jobs (depending what we do BLU might be available) with no need for alts other than liking to change race on frequent basis without buying hundreds of Fantasias.
