What makes the content in Final Fantasy 14 so much better than World of Warcraft?

So I don't mind doing rep grinds, some system stuff to progress better in raid for example I love the idea that there is like a cool strong trinket or weapon behind a reputation grind which you can do (which is not even the case right now sadly).
I do have an issue that Blizzard barely does anything to help your alts.
Also one thingy in FFXIV is that you only play one character if I remember correctly so most rep grind you do on the character is usable for all the jobs you have leveled and you level all your professions also on just one character.
That's not the case in WoW which makes you regrind all the same stuff with every character. I would love if WoW added stuff like shared Reputation and Renown, and the only thing that should obtained is gear.
And maybe remove the 2 crafting profession limit, never really saw the use of it except you need to make alts to get more professions.
Yep. I agree
FF14 is overrated.
All WoW has to do is to make a majority of their systems account wide. The second thing they could do is to turn all their "borrowed power" systems INTO the catch up systems for casuals where the power they gain puts them a step below the power mythic raider gets from raiding. thirdly, make it so that the power from the system and the power from the raids are exclusive, so that raiders aren't forced to participate in those grinds in order to do what they want to do.
Pick your path to your tomestones… Do whatever you want. Such a great system.
In FFXIV, the highest ilvl gear can be obtained by:
1) clearing raids (which you can do just with crafted HQ gear and even less)
2) upgrading tomestone gear, available only by clearing raids
Tomestones are obtained by many different kinds of content, so you do whatever you want , whether you raid or not, and slowly build up unupgraded tomestone gear. The items to trade to upgrade the gear are initially available only by raiding.
However, you CAN obtain the items to upgrade tomestone gear by doing hunts, a much more casual type of content… but not on the same patch as the content is released. Even then, weapons are not upgradeable when this option opens, but instead waits for another half a patch. And EVENTUALLY the relic weapon does give you the best weapon in the entire patch cycle, but that's only BiS on the last patch before the next expansion.
STILL, what most of this means is that you can gear any job as you obtain things using a different job. Use your lvl 90 ilvl 595 job to raid, get chests you can open with your other jobs to get their raiding gear, get pages to turn in for any gear you need on alts… very friendly to alt jobs.
I had to stop playing WoW after 16 faithful years and start playing other MMOs to see what WoW was lacking. There is a lot to be desired, like account-wide credit beyond Achievements and extra available content like Darkmoon Faire being unlimited (It is considered a holiday, but it is still limited and that could be additional content to keep players engaged). I'm not even going to begin on the classes 🤣
I could make a list, but I noticed that weekly cooldowns of tackling Mythics and Raids is an example of Blizzard shooting themselves in the foot. It has not aged well by comparison.
Lost ark free game… tons of things to do adn though they are different game styles… lost ark is way more fun than wow
I was told to write some stuff.
Something people don't realize something as well. Alts are so unneeded for the majority of players in 14. Something in particular is…new game+. It's an unlock in Vesper Bay, I believe. If you have a friend starting the game over? You want to travel with them?
Just go to that expansion storyline and set it to replay, then start following the quests along with them. Sure you don't get rewards or cash the second time around, but it lets you do it with your friend, too. It lets you replay most of the major story archs, including job quests. I used it to relearn my machinist after I came back to so many class changes. Just followed it, and only added stuff to my bar for that level.
ALSO…used that more than once to play Hildibrand again.
FF removes the player power from rep grinds, which is nice, but both games need to find a way to make the gameplay itself more fun. The best a rep grind can be is "not that bad".
LOL you say you want WOW to be what it use to be? So you want it to be hardcore again but yet you cry about the systems now hahah! I think covid has made people stupid!
Ff14 is better than WoW as a game in general. Plain and simple.
Some stuff below
There's an actual story that's not worse than a fanction
No mandatory hamster wheels
I feel like I'm the only one that prefers wow by a MILE over FFXIV
The way he says REP had me very confused for a bit there.
It's not just XIV, just take any MMO from the market and none will have the same amount of time wasting dogshit that wow puts in every single patch, but for some reason it "has" to be this way in WoW because ????
Blizzard: players must play all our content!
Also Blizzard: everything before current patch is obsolete, whole expansions no longer exist!
It's funny how there are certain things that FF does that are great that aren't actually thing FF came up with, but that they borrowed from WoW. In addition to your point about reputations, things like tomestones are pretty much badges of justice and all their other iterations from older WoW expansions. And they pretty much fulfill the exact same functions as they did back then too.
The only people who shit on wow and suck off ffxiv are the edgelords desperate to hear their own voices at this point. It's getting pretty boring and one note and I'm guessing a great way to lose subscribers. We get it, yall don't like wow anymore.
Show us on the doll where wow hurt you.
Blizzard have learned f**k all, they are lazy stubborn pathological liars and gaslight the community.
That's why so many quit.
9.2 is not enough, 10.0 won't be enough.
I would encourage more to go anywhere else but wow, it's currently trash.
Yo the haircut looks really great!
I would say FF14 has more systems, but the big difference is that they aren't tied to player power. The systems are for player fun. Plus, most are voluntary. You don't HAVE to do rep grinds or anima power dailies or ANY dailies unless you want some reward that is mostly cosmetic. in WoW you HAVE to do the grind. if you don't have your two legendaries and the right conduits… you are seriously gimping yourself.
Eh I’d say rep has always tied into raiding for WoW. Even as far back as vanilla/classic you needed rep for Naxx and rep with AQ for some BiS gear for classes. Same with tbc and the rep grind for heroic attunements which also tied into raid attunements. i stopped playing around WoTLK though so you might be referencing to sometime then but as far back as WoW goes, rep was necessary for raiding as well.
WoW "system":
1. Buy expansion $40, buy subscription $15, buy 60 character boost (skip all expansions content) $60
2. Buy token, buy boost (end game "content") – $20/each
3. repeat #2 until you wake up
This is exactly why I left wow. I could not stomach what they've made the game. FFXIV let's me make choices on how I play instead of dictating what I HAVE to do to play what I want.
Love the haircut. Looking drippy af🔥🔥🔥💯
Lost ark number 🥇
Correction: alliance raids aren't really a thing for hard-core players. By the time they are out a hard-core raider would have no need for it outside glamour or alts. Its more for the casual raider or just casual player. Trials do have a little more value though it still is usually more limited for hard-core raiders in value.
Why is your hair higher at the back than the front?
