Why FF14's Endgame DEMOLISHES WoW's!

Along our journey into FF14, one thing Mike didn’t really touch on so far was what the endgame of FF is like. He passed by Eureka during Stormblood and boy were you guys not gonna let him slip by again. Today we look at Bozja and why it really shows the shortcomings of WoW’s endgame systems.

  1. Evening everyone. Mike is now in Mexico enjoying a well earned break with the Fam which means it's all Chris all the time on youtube for the next ten days. First up we're taking a look at FF14's endgame. As many of you know Mike has had a lot to say about WoW's systems – so when Mike stepped into Bozja at the stream audience's request; well suffice to say he was surprised to see the zone had pretty much everything he has wanted from WoW's endgame in spades, and none of it is MANDATORY.

  2. in a few months preach's opinion will be different when he discover how is the gear progression works in an actual current raid patch .. bozja is fun but the gear you get from it is pretty much glamour at the point when bozja was released .. current alliance raids drop even worse item level gear than raid gear which was released 4-5months ago and the tomestone limit .. the system just scream fuck you if want to play another role/job.. thats why some people level alts (actual alt characters to avoid this issue) i think preach we will be there in 6.2 I cannot wait to hear what he will have to say then

  3. I played shadowlands way less after I geared out my main, due to the long drawn out process of playing alts in shadowlands, the now mplus score that’s not account wide for the valor upgrading, just makes me not want to play my alts that much. It’s really exhausting knowing you have to grind a 2k mplus score on every alt to upgrade your gear.

  4. I'm really happy you enjoy the game but, when I saw "Endgame content" I thought you would talk about savage and Ultimate. Having raided in both MMos (WoW and FFXIV) it is absolutely not the same content and I even think endgame raiding content of FFXIV is one of the worst I've ever seen in a MMo. You have 4 boss per 6-8 months and it's over : if you've killed them and you're geared (which is way easier than on WoW) you have nothing left to do apart from parsing. I really loved the game the first thousand hours, when I experienced what the game offered total, but when I caught up and did the current content (back in Stormblood, I still raid to this day but I'll quit in a month I think, I'm not really enjoying the game anymore) I felt the end content was a huge void

  5. My massive issue with FF14 is the amount of nonsense quest you have to go through to do anything. For instance you buy a expansion for FF14 you have to do 500 quest just to have access to the content you bought. Because its all pre expansion "story' setup. But what is really is a time waster and completely pointless. They do this to keep people busy while they make a new expansion/content. But they keep all those quest in the game and force people into doing it. NTY there is less time gating in WoW. These 500+ quest i am talking about is not leveling quest. These quest legit are at the end of an expansion after you and most of you're other classes if you have any are maxed. The expansion I am refering to is Heavensward. Obvously that part of the game is F2P now but at the time of me trying the game out it was not. I bought the game and I said screw it Ill just pick up the other 2 expansion Heavensward and Stormblood. By the time you get done and are ready to go to heavensward. You are already burnt out by the shear number of quest you have to do. Then everyone says it gets better after heavensward. Like ok ill go do that. After about 100+hrs of me trying to get to heavensward i quit. That 100hrs just being pre expansion nonsense. It leveled me and all my classes to max level at the time. I remember thinking whats the point in doing heavensward and Stormblood leveling zones because the pre quest for it was so long it maxed me out and 100 hrs I am still not done. Then I thought I bet to access A Stormblood its the same thing. So I stop playing and never went back. I am not the type of player that reads quest txt. I will listen to voice acting or cutscenes thats about it. I think its boring and a giant waste of time. I could be using that time towards something else I find more fun. Slogging through hundereds of hours worth of bs quest to get to the good story is not worth it. Now if that changed any of this that'd all well and good. There is a reason the most trash part of the game is F2P.

  6. I will point out that it's easy for sprouts to get blocked at Delubrum Reginae right now. Obviously Mike avoided this because he had a group to run with him but your average player is going to sit in queue for 10 minutes and then zone in to a group that is likely fewer than 8 players (possibly even solo) and they will probably be unable to complete the run. PF can be really hit or miss with getting people to join as well. The only sure way to get through it right now is to go find the discord that organizes runs for your DC which is a less than ideal solution.

  7. Oi Preach! Dat hair!!!
I have to be honest, I stopped watching your content during the exodus to FF14. Nothing against you or anyone else. That game just isn't the game for me.
So as someone that hasn't seen you in a bit, I was quite surprised to see how good that hair is lookin these days bud! Just wanted to let you know.

  8. Everything about FF14 demolishes WoW. I was a WoWr from the start of it all. And yeah..it was great! But after each expansion came more stupid moves by blizzard. It lost its story..its immersion and environment just felt rushed and thrown together. Nothing intrigued me..then when they made it possible to reach lv.80 in like 2 weeks..that was it. FF14 is amazing!! Its got story, character progression, different arcs..the community itself is just better! Ill always miss WoW…but its just become another Everquest…..dead and boring and not worth the time anymore. Ff14 is the best MMO online right now

  9. I know your focus isn't the story, but since you said you enjoyed it you should check out some other games by Yasumi Matsuno, the man who wrote Bozja and the Ivalice raids. His game Tactics Ogre is apparently Yoshi-P's favorite game ever, and his Final Fantasy Tactics is a widely beloved classic.

  10. Bozja when just playing through the story is pretty fun, but the moment you stop to grind is when it starts hitting the low notes… If you want some of the best rewards, it just turns into a system of sitting around the main camp waiting for Critical Engagements, and doing the raids on repeat.
