  1. WoW's opening training session is to teach you to kill without thinking, and how to press buttons to kill.
FFXIV's opening training session is to tell you the start of a grand tale, and introduce you to the world you've just joined.

    Fundamentally two different philosophies.

  2. The amount of times in FF14 where I’ve just sat in stunned silence because of a reveal, as someone who adores story driven RPGs and will happily read quest text (faster than its voice acted usually) FF14’s storyline grabbed me by the balls and is refusing to let go. Yes it did drag at certain points but I took it easy and experimented with some alt jobs and did their story quests to break it up a bit.

WoW? Sure, my first character to 60 I did engage somewhat but not to the same extent.
There’s been no moments that have made me go ‘OH FUCK, this is actually a threat!’ Unlike ShadowBringers, where one particular part, no details of course, made me go “Oh.. OH! OH GOD THIS IS HORRIFIC, THIS IS REAL, THIS NEEDS TO STOP!” And yes, I know it’s not real but I was fully immersed.

  3. Ppl are enjoying more ff theses days because they have devs that plays the game and listen their community.
    That’s all.

The rest of the game is awful. Clunky, combat combo style, raids/instances played in a dome fells horrible.

  4. The lolee comment is pretty accurate. I was willing to take it slow, but after 15 minutes with nothing but watching cutscenes and reading text I was done with the game. If I want to read that much, I will sit down with a book.

  5. I made a new character when some of my friends started playing, I chose Lalafell so I can be the "little shit." I am now attached to him and playing anything else feels wrong.

  6. Quitting a game after 20 minutes because it made you experience actual video game content and world building basically proves you’re not an actual gamer. 🤷🏻‍♂️

  7. Lalafells are perfect because they are cute and mature at the same time, if you are thinking about loli/ped*** and sexual content when you look at a lalafell, I'm sorry dude but the problem it's not the game, it's you!

  8. FF14 feels like a diesel engine, slow to start but can go for longer, Wow has become a dragster that costs 20000 dollars a ride and you have to collect the parts for the 10 second run storywise and game play wise as well, these days.

  9. I wish more people knew how to have fun when starting it. Sit down, enjoy talking to NPC's make your character look alive and feel alive. Play with people, look at animals.

Sure, I'm a weeb, but like are little potato people and cute cat girls so bad? There's plenty of WORSE things in the world and seeing one of them shouldn't "destroy the realism" for ya. It's a video game. Enjoy something

  10. As he stated, thinking lalafells are kids are on players, the game presents them only as adults as npcs lol
Also I worry for people if they are bored if they aren't killing stuff constantly. Like how short are people's attention spans

  11. I played WoW for almost 10 years and I always had the presumption that FFXIV is ‘slower’ because the longer GCDs. I can not emphasise how false is that. I only have a max level summoner, which might be the most complex jobs there and the short major cooldown windows (in 2 mins you use two of them) and off-GCD abilities spices things up really fast. Not to mention that every job has their own class mechanic to be aware of, in Summoner’s case it’s trances that will enable the major cooldowns. In WoW you’re accustomed to pressing 4-6 buttons in a fight but in FFXIV you actively use 12-16 buttons. It’s insane

  12. people keep saying this game is so good cause the story. personally dont care at all for story and just want fun gameplay and fights or pvp to do

  13. WoW players just aren't used to actually enjoying the game they play (nor the devs that make it)
…so when they hear FFXIV players say "come play FFXIV it's great, you'll have fun", WoW players are too cynical.

  14. Because WoW is a boring slog. As someone who tried FFXIV first I tried to give WoW a go and just got bored because there's literally 0 guidance and it feels like a massive waste of time, also the quests are boring and the dungeons suck.

  15. I think referring to the lalafells as lollis says more about that guy than anything else. Lmao Like it was said, they are like small potato people with full on beards and not even the female ones have anything skimpy. Don't other MMOs like Blade & Soul have races that look like actual human children in skimpy armor? But this guy is bothered by potato people in regular clothes and armor lol

  16. I think the best example of how Lalas are better than other child races is momodi in Ul'dah. She's just like every other starter city bartender in the game, she just happens to be three feet tall and a touch greedy. The potato bodies also help.

  17. As a long time consumer and fan of Japanese media. the loli shit can go to hell we all know what they're trying to do. it doesn't matter how they act or if they're 1000 year old demons w/e they're sexualizing childrens bodies and people need to stop defending it and call it out.
