What Job Do You Like In Final Fantasy XIV And Why?

Why? Why do you play the job or jobs that you play in FFXIV? That is the question of todays video!

Final Fantasy XIV has a vast roster of jobs and while I believe the more than merrier, sometimes that can lead you to being in a position of not knowing what to play!

That is the exact position I am finding myself in right now!
So I thought to myself, Ali, why not pose this question to the viewers.
What is it about the job or jobs that you play that you enjoy? What is it that makes you love them or just want to play them?

I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments bellow!

See, for the longest time; I was an astrologian main. However after I stepped out of doing savage I wanted to see if I could find something outside of the healing realm. Thus has my search marched ever onward!

However, that being said I am someone who is big on job fantasy and asthetics; so for example I enjoy the steam punk asthetic that machinist gives off or the constantly busy feeling of monks rotation which helps keep me engaged.

These sort of things!

So pray, do let me know. What is it about your favorite FFXIV jobs that makes you continue to come back to them?

  1. For me, it mainly comes down to “role playing” for the msq and “do I have fun with the job” for everything else. For example, my main is a xaela marauder/warrior, but spent Heavensward, Stormblood, and most of Shadowbringers as a dark knight. I treated return to warrior as my character coming to terms with himself. My alt is a wildwood lancer, so I imagine her as an Ishgardian

  2. I play paladin and warrior cause they look cool and i have fun playing them. The big swords paladin has look awesome and feel satisfying to use. In regards to warrior, I just love fun cleave, the animation and sound design are just amazing

  3. I play Scholar because I enjoy the fairy theme cause I love fairies. I also like the shielding elements too since it makes me focus more and at least learn the names of the attacks that hit everyone. So it adds more engagement for me. I also like that your fairy is a healing helper so I like thinking about my WoL having a little companion to help out.

I don't really play any other jobs much since I enjoy healing a lot. But I have a few others sitting at 90. I guess my second favorite class is Reaper. I enjoy the flow of attacks and the aesthetics a lot. For me, it just feels high energy at least compared to ScH. So I enjoy it a lot as a change of pace. But I can only raid as a ScH 😭

  4. The three jobs I've settled on (now that I have them all ranked to 90) are Dancer, Gunbreaker, and Sage. Occasionally if I feel like a change of pace I use Red Mage. I like Dancer because it seems to have an active playstyle and moves around a lot.
