  1. I think both starting now and later has advantages! On the one hand of the changes would make ur experience better you'd see the debs are willing to change things… Even really old things, on the other if you just start later you could save yourself some frustration.

  2. I don’t understand this problem with waiting 5-10 minutes for a queue as you do other activities. And also if you really don’t want to wait, just do potd.

  3. Keep in mind that the TRUST system is basically an MSQ-compatible version of SQUADRONS, which was released way before Shadowbringers. If you guys are struggling with the queues, then you could use Squadrons to do a large selection of the level 50 (and lower) dungeons with an NPC squad that you can choose + level up. To access that, you need to rank up with your Grand Company and then you'll be able to run your own little militia of NPC's. This is really nice for uber low-level alts.

I assume that this feature will either be improved in later patches, or be converted to the TRUST variant. Present-day TRUST basically allows you to do Shadowbringers+ dungeons with the Scions as NPC teammates. It's not as efficient as playing with other players, but it's still insta-queue, and allows you a chance to see how some of the Scions interact with those dungeons (seeing as each one has their own flavour text and mechanics). For example, one particular Scion is extremely aggressive with Limit Break, another particular Scion will prioritize healing another particular Scion when they're in danger, even if you (the WOL) are in critical condition, and so forth. Just small but fun touches that add a little personality to what is otherwise just a bundle of NPC's there to fill a combat role and save you a queue.

  4. Note: There is no way in hell Yoshi is reading twitch or youtube lol. They simulcast on niconico and youtube as well. Niconico is basically Japan's version of twitch, that would be the one he is predominately reading with only a glance at youtube or twitch here and there.

Also, Yoshi IS working on another project. Creative Business Unit 3 are making FF16. CBU3 is Yoshi's team, so he is the Producer on 16.

  5. I think Edda's story timeline doesn't let her join the player.

As to art direction, I think I just really dislike Blizzard's style. I'm neutral on Overwatch and outright negative on Starcraft and WoW.

  6. I genuinely don't think someone working a 9 to 5 with only a few hours to play a day can make it to end game without boosting or skipping through cutscenes and dialogue. Probably wouldn't hurt if they did another pass on consolidating some of the dry parts of the story and left them for anyone that wants them in newgame+.

Took me hundreds of hours to reach endwalker and a great deal of it was not very fun. By the end of it, playing to finally join my friends in current content was just a chore. If it felt like a normal final fantasy game it would be fine but all the fetch quest filler and hopping between npcs to launch into repetitive dialogue really got in the way of the plot.

I'm having fun now that I'm past that and I know everyone is different, but overall for me the ffxiv levelling experience has been one of the slowest and most boring I've had in an mmo.

  7. I am definitely one of those that treats it as a solo game with MMO elements…. I did the same with ESO too. Honestly before these I always stuck with solo games like Fallout, Elder Scrolls and Final Fantasy.

  8. Ah cape westwind. Someone reminded me that if CW was going solo, the mog raid is gonna be newbie's first 8 man raid. And I giggled. I GIGGLED LIKE A MADMAN!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

  9. For queue time on dps give palace of the dead a try. It gives you a taste of the job at a higher level and has low queue time because it just groups 4 people without caring what role they are. Running floors 51-60 is the usual leveling route but climbing the tower with some buddies can also be a fun goal to try and beat

  10. On the note of when Garrett was talking about Yoshi P not leaving FFXIV for another project and being apprehensive to becoming a fan of a developer due to past experiences, Yoshi P is already technically in the midst of that with helping FFXVI as a producer. But then again seems like CBU III is also developing it as well in tandum with FFXIV, so I'm a bit curious on if there's dual development going on with CBU III as a whole doing both or if it's just technically another, smaller subset within it.

  11. If they ever updated Crystal Tower, I'd personally want it to stay an alliance raid and just properly update to the standard of the current alliance raids. Like how they did with all the early dungeons. From Stormblood and on Alliance raids really start to get into a league of their own. Especially the crossover ones in Shadowbringers. They are really amazing

  12. The textures in this game are using normal maps which are basically a newer version of bump maps. Those normal maps are then used for something called parallax occlusion mapping. The main problem with this right now is that FFXIV uses an ancient version of PO mapping which has a ton of artifacting that more modern versions of the shader don't. So I really hope they replace that shader with a newer version.

  13. I really hope that when they start the visual upgrades in 7.0, they give out a free fantasia to everyone. You know the character updates will change how we view our avatars.
