  1. wow, we wiped so many times on Kefka, and we'd always spread far away for his Wings. thanks for showing that clip, that makes understanding how to keep uptime better for when I encounter similar mechanics in the future!

  2. Especially with Endwalker coming out soon I’m glad someone is making sure people doing high end content know what the different types of enemy attacks are considering we are all about to be doing a lot of blind prog soon. I can tell you how many “high-end” raiders only know how to do fights by following guides to the letter like it’s Dance Dance Revolution or something.

  3. A good example Xeno you should have included since we will be seeing thordan ulti soon, you should have included the spear throw where tank has to stand in front of the healer, I'll be kinda bummed of that mech doesn't reappear, not gonna lie back then you would feel like a bad ass stopping that spear from nuking the healer

  4. ESO is the only other MMO I've played, and it's vastly different from XIV so I was pretty overwhelmed at first. I was so goddamn confused when I heard people talking about "towers," I had no idea what they meant. "Meteors" made sense for me because the first time I saw them they actually were meteors, but I didn't know why everyone was just standing in place letting themselves get hit. "Stacks" didn't make sense to me either because I didn't know wtf those arrows were. I didn't understand how proximity AOEs worked either. Pretty much everything confused me except for "tank buster," that's probably the only one that makes sense without context. The name kinda lets you know what it does.

Hall of the Novice is a goddamn joke and the only thing it's good for is that ring.

  5. Technically, Chimera's "Rams Voice" and "Dragons Voice" were the first iteration of Chariot and Dynamo, no?
Also the 'Bomb Tankbuster' I always call 'Brandamante' also because of Nael Deus Darnus 🙂

  6. You forgot the flare tankbuster, which is very common nowadays. Showed up as G100 but now because it's standardized for Flare mechanics we call it the Flare tankbuster (though I do slip and say G100 every now and then)

  7. Thank you so much. i was wondering what kind of busters existed as fresh tank. these things intimidated me for going higher difficulties since everyone expects newe tanks to know everything about a boss

  8. lol i've been playing since 2.0 but didn't raid until stormblood and never heard the term chariot or dynamo till Ruby Weapon. It's always been out and in for me though protean has always been protean.

  9. One tank buster which i really like was one i have only ever seen in seiryu ex, where he puts a "Karmic Curse" on the mt and follows it up with a heavy hit, If that hit deals damage to the person with that debuff, when it falls off it deals a raidwide that seems to be equal to the damage soaked , which if you do not mitigate it or try to tank invuln with one that prevents death instead of preventing damage (war, drk) it will simply wipe the entire party (bar the tanks) Granted it's almost never used but i thought it was prety cool.

  10. Man, can you do more videos like these? And like your how to not suck videos? There isn't really anyone else giving this level of detail about jobs/mechanics, and this well explained. Would love for non-tank jobs too but understand you main tanks so I'll take what I can get

  11. As a newer Healer main, I really need to know this kind of stuff. It's great to look at guides that list effects and be told the general mindset, but learning specific terms while seeing detailed examples really helps cement the lesson. Most healers I've met don't know the first thing about other roles in the same raid, so knowing this helps me prioritise and plan ahead.

  12. one thing to note about distance based tankbusters is that you cannot debuff those with stuff like reprisal, addle or feint because the entity that is handing out the busters is untargetable (in that example its coming from the water nados) even if theres a boss present. If the tether were to be coming from a targetable source or boss, then its debuffable.

  13. Props once again to the editor for the flying text as well as the chaptering of the video for future reference. I remember seeing most of this live and this level of formatting is MUCH easier to understand and absorb.

  14. Hits you and puts a bomb on you? cues Kira Yoshikage's Theme

I'm surprised they didn't give an ability like that to Kefka. It would suit him well with how chaotic and destructive his magic is in the Dissidia games. So unpredictable.

  15. Very nice formatting on the editors behalf; especially with the video chapters. Having raided myself since 2.0 this was still a nice refresher, and would be perfect for any tanks wanting to raid in Endwalker.
