For those wondering, yes, you have to level the trusts up (the avatars) from Shadowbringers if you had not done so already. It's ok to not have them leveled for doing the dungeons for the MSQ.
I think they could afford to make trust more efficient if the rewards are worse than normal roulettes/duty finder, instead of having less rewards due to slower runs, you have "normal" runs but have to do more for the same rewards. I think thats the main reason people dont just run 15-60 dungeon with squadrons, even though they were decent at dps.
Trust are not fun for me for the simple fact that dungeons arent very hard, you can make them harder and more fun by making big pulls and using cooldowns, but trust dont AoE so tanking it feels semi pointless.
I don't see the need to name them 'Avatars' in the duty, it's unnecessary to add that to the name, and honestly makes me not want to bother levelling them because its not THE character, it's just an 'avatar' and that sucks the fun out of it/ruins the immersion imo, if I want to take trusts, I just use scenario and don't bother levelling avatars.
Also if you're DPS and don't have a queue boost, taking trusts is usually faster since average duty + DPS queue will take longer than a trust dungeon
I really wish trusts didn't have this bullshit dynamic DPS system where playing better rewards you with worse companions.
It's pretty counter-intuitive too, a bad ooga-booga player who does nothing but spam the AOE/Single target rotation without using their gauge isn't gonna notice that the trusts are doing all the work for them, but a good player will definitely notice when they're being intentionally held back by a Y'shtola whose Fire IV deals 2k damage in Vanaspati, and which one of these is more likely to hunt for the achievement at the end do you think?
Either give trusts a fix DPS amount, or give better rewards for better players, if there's one system where the devs could definitely push players towards improving themselves without creating toxicity, it's the entirely AI-dependent dungeons (Hell I even use those when re-learning a class I let sleep for a long time)
In your runs were you able to determine which, if any, characters were faster or did more damage? I’m thinking of using trusts to spam the level 90 msq dungeon to get that minion, but I didn’t know if there was a “most efficient” comp or not.
I do wish they implemented Trusts for all the of the Endwalker trials, especially since the queues for the first week was terrible for trials.
I love using trusts!
To level them, you can be more optimal than runnning the first 3, then the next 3, then the last 1 alone.
Levelling 3 trusts requires 23 instances.
If you rotate 3 trusts in a list a 4, it should take 31 instances. It's far better than 23 + 23 + 23.
Personnaly, I've run the first group as a tank.
Now, I'm running the second set of trusts as a DPS. In these last trusts, I have G'raha who could flex to any job. So the group always a tank, a healer, and a DPS.
You can rotate trusts to make sure they always are roughly at the same level : 123- > -234 > 1-34 > 12-4 > loop
You can even use 2 DPS jobs on your character to avoid wasting player exp.
Is it bad I came in here hoping for the certified Trust Tier list from pro raider Ilya Dalamiq
If you haven't done a piece of content before for main story, you're put in a priority queue for your role so you can get it done to progress the story.
Plus you don't need Shadowbringer's Trusts to 80 to use them in Endwalker (since the first dungeon is lvl 81 … it's a new roster of people).
One really nice thing about the 8 person trial trust is you can effectively use it as a live practice dummy. Great for practicing openers/rotations/macros with live mechanics, and they won't get mad if you decide to wall a run.
It's also beneficial if rl and work doesn't, at a certain time, allow you to play that much.
Might take longer but sometimes I'd rather have a guaranteed queue and fixed clear time as a DPS than wait 10+ mins and then not know how much longer i could take depending on the players.
Trusts are infuriating because they don’t aoe. I do a dungeon a day through trusts and just watch YouTube while I let my avatars kill trash mobs, I only do the bosses. Idk if it’s better in ew dungeons but I tried my ass off as a bard in the 75-77 dungeons and it still felt slow af. I gave up and I’d rather spend 10 more mins in the dungeon if it means I barely have to pay attention
23 mins is about right thats about as fast as i can get it. Honestly in levelling dungeons? Not the worst especially queue dodging
I wish they would implement this for every single encounter at every possible difficulty. Then and only then could we get the practice required minus the salt, judgement, ridicule and elitism.
i did level up my Shadowbringers NPC characters all the way to Lv80, was fun until that last untouched character Lv70 is between you and the title! lol
i think my proudest title is "Of Dragon's Deep" from the Fisher side quest "The Feast of Famine" I still use it.
I'll start leveling my DRG with Endwalker NPC characters and I'll honesty go through the pain just to get all the minions from these dungeons and the title sounds cool too.
one question here, all Endwalker dungeons have their own minion?
Who do you think is the best for each role? I’m trying to farm the Lv90 minion but don’t know who the best is
I don't use the Trust system, and I probably never will. But if your guestimate of ~5 extra minutes per run with the Trust AI's is accurate then honestly its probably just faster for DPS to level using them since they often have 10+ minute queues.
Trust party is op as heck
