  1. After watching his take on playing other games, I wonder if Asmon will ever stream Doom or Battlefield or even devil may cry or maybe some horror games too.

  2. By the way, since no one said this I will: The Final Fantasy for the Game Boy you remember wasn't in reality a Final Fantasy game. Squaresoft back then decided it was a good idea to rename "Makai Toushi SaGa" games to market them in the West. The same has happened when Persona 3 came out and Atlus decided to attach "Shin Megami Tensei" in front while in fact Persona games are SMT spinoffs.

Notice how I don't claim that the games are worse or better (SaGa games while niche have a dedicated fanbase), but they are certainly different than what mainline Final Fantasy games of the era were.

  4. Been a fan since classic dropped, good!! I been quit wow classic. Same as retail already. Back in the late 00s I solely played mmos. I’m now more of a single player rpg gamer. Getting old

  5. If you're going to play several MMOs, please give standard RuneScape (unofficially known as 'RuneScape 3') a try; it's an extremely underrated game, as it's much superior to Old-School, yet has a lack of content creators so it gets absolutely no good press while it's often badmouthed by OS creators. Compared to OS, it has much more actual content, allowing the developers to eliminate the mindless grind that characterises bad game and was a staple of RuneScape; instead now the game has amazing voice-acted quests, a thriving PvM scenario with bosses only a couple players can beat, minigames galore more skills filled with lore and content, breathtaking landscapes and countless QoL updates; the only things people hate about the game are generally leftovers from OS, some of which can't be changed, or the lack of PvP due to too much wealth to love and a reduced community. OS players often criticise mtx to skip a small part of the grind, but again RS3 is not about the grind so its irrelevant; the game is not P2W.

So we would be very thankful of you gave the game a fair look. You might enjoy it yourself.

  6. The only reason why you don't want to get a boost is because you want your opinion to be valid? Not that you want to enjoy the game the way it was intended to be played? Alrighty then

  7. It would be fun to see you try out Guild Wars 2 and ESO to endgame as well as any other MMO that you might be interested in, fuck even dead ones, cause you streaming it would revive it for the amount of time you play it.

  8. Eso/ff14 will probably never die because they are two of biggest rpg franchises with millions of fans that will play old games years after release. Ik more about the elder scrolls stuff and I can say people love the elder scrolls for the exploration, questing, rewards and lore. Combat in every tes game has been weird. I love esos combat but for new players or players coming from other mmos it can be very off putting

  9. Would the severance with WoW development and the newfound open-mindedness felt towards FFXV apply to other MMOs? Or is it only FFXIV because it shares a vertical progression model similar to WoW?

As an outsider, changing from WoW to FFXIV doesn't seem like much of a leap other than its evangelical, "We don't talk 'bout the dirty stuff, or the old world, round here, kid." community.
