  1. I just wish the Raid had more "alliance" mechanics. It had significantly less group actions or anything requiring an actual alliance than any other alliance raid. It was basically 24 ppl doing a dungeon.

  2. A small 'easter' egg, not sure how intentional it is, but Emet-Selch's soul crystal has the Gemini constellation inscribed in it. Nald'thal – the twins, have a very similar model to that of Hades, also in a way he does resemble that sort of 'dual' nature of Emet. Of course this is just speculation, but I think SE may be unto something here.

  3. It’s tear, as in what comes out of your eyes.

I’m leaning toward this as being a remnant of Elpis and these are just Ancients who sucked on the coolaid a bit too much, lol. Like how Hermes and Hades transformed. The architecture is pretty similar to the moon bunny architecture. They were also scared or wary of Hydaelyn too. And yes, Deryk feels very very sus, friends and I had a similar thought process.

  4. Hey Cobrak! Just an FYI in case you didn't know, you can type in a command in chat that shrinks all Summoner summons sizes to lil baby ones, it helps a lot in raids so you can see what the hells goin on around you 😂 it's "/petsize all small"

  5. One of the main reasons that I tell everyone who plays FFXIV to do all the trials and the raids is FOR THE STORY AND THE LORE! I know so many people that actually just play FFXIV for the plot but skip out on all the other content without realizing that IT ADDS TO THE PLOT!

  6. As far as the story goes, the prevailing theory is that either Deryk or his friend the baby Opo Opo are actually Oschan, the Wanderer, who is the 12th god in the pantheon. This idea is strengthened by the fact that two of the other gods appeared before us in animal form from which they observe the world without being detected. Past that, whenever you hear the word "god" used in FFXIV you'll want to drop the notion that it refers to some sort of all-powerful, all-knowing being. As Zenos himself pointed out, the gods are of man's own making and everything that we've seen them do falls within the realm of aether manipulation or aetherological science. This is made clear by the fact that they are clearly manipulating aether to do the things that they do AND that their realm is subject to the fluctuation of aether which is the reason why they've been observed. Now, we don't have enough information yet to say whether or not they date back to before the sundering or not but considering that there are records of their existence being glimpsed as far back as the 3rd astral era that idea can't be ruled out. If by chance they DID exist before the sundering then I speculate that these beings were likely created through sacrificial creation magick like was seen in one of the first Shadowbringers dungeons where the last boss was a guardian force born from the entire life essence of an Ancient.

  7. One thing I've thought about and find worth pointing out is that the Twelve are specifically gods in the pantheon of Eorzea. So their trial and ambition may not be as massive as doing something for Etheirys as a whole, but perhaps!

This aspect specifically matters to me because in my head my WoL is from Doma, so I've thought about their relationship with the Twelve every now and again.

  8. Since it doesn't look like anyone else has dropped this trivia here, I get the honours:

Koji Fox has been with the team since 1.0. When they were making up the gods, he convinced the lore team to make Nald'thal twins so that they could technically be worshiped separately. Why? Purely so he could make Thal's Balls a thing in the translation. Nald'thal are twins, purely because Koji Fox desperately wanted to put in that joke. You may now all facepalm at our beloved Translation Supervisor.
